The father, knowing all about it, was in the habit of sleeping with them at night, and working as a tailor with other men in the daytime. He refused to allow the children to be sent to a hospital, or to give u0p making clothes; and his employer stated that he intended to keep him at work. It was agreed that the Medical Officer and the Chairman of St. Pancras Sanitary Committee should go and endeavour to PERSUADE the tailor and his employer not to spread the scarlet fever in London!!!]”
