Farmer & Brindley's stone-carving in this church” by John Johnson is particularly fine. The reredos is truly dynamic, depicting fierce soldiers leading Jesus roughly to Golgotha, and the women following Jesus huddled together in evident distress. As the church pamphlet says, "the original furnishings all display a craftsmanship worthy of the lavish expenditure" (n.p.).
