Comprehensive Unicode Test Page forHanunóo
This page tests the Hanunóo Unicode block (U+1720 - U+173F).
It is part of the Gallery of Unicode Fonts and is based on the following sources:
- The Unicode Standard (version 5.0.0)
- Peter T. Daniels & William Bright's The World's Writing Systems
Consonants have an inherent -a vowel. The other two vowels (-i and -u) are indicated by a diacritic above (for -i) or below (for -u) the consonant. Depending on the consonant, ligatures are formed, changing the shape of the consonant-vowel combination. Vowels at the beginning of syllables are represented by their own, independent characters. Syllables ending in a consonant are written with a special sign (pamudpod) to cancel out the inherent vowel.

The selected font must be installed on your system. This page might not display properly with older versions of Internet Explorer or Netscape. Additionally, Netscape & Firefox may show an unsupported character using a different font to the one selected. Internet Explorer seems to do this too, but to a much lesser extent.
Reserved/unallocated codepoints are shown with a gray background.
There are two sections presented below to test characters in the Hanunóo block:
- The first section shows combinations of characters to test actual usage of Hanunóo script.
- Note that the letters used in column/row headings represent the Unicode designations, not necessarily how the letters would be transcribed using the Latin alphabet.
- And some of the consonant/vowel combinations shown below may not actually be used.
- The second section is just the list of Hanunóo codepoints and is laid out in a grid format for easy comparison against the online Unicode charts.
- Placing your cursor over any of the characters in the chart shows the codepoint and its name from the Unicode Character Database (Copyright © 1991-2006 Unicode, Inc). This may not work with some browsers.
- Combining and non-spacing codepoints are preceded with a non-breaking space and are shown with a dashed border
