Jovian. (363-364 AD). AV solidus, Antioch, 4.44 g. Antioch. D N IOVIAN�VS P F P AVG, pearl diademed, draped, cuirassed bust right. SECORITAS (sic) REI PVBLICAE, Roma seated facing and Constantinopolis seated left, holding between them shield inscribed VOT / V / MVL / X; Roma is helmeted and also holds sceptre, Constantinople is turreted, right foot on prow, and also holds sceptre. Mintmark ANTS. Depeyrot 18/2 (p. 279). Cohen 15 (100 Fr.). Reverse legend variant of RIC 224 (R3), officina Delta=4. Extremely fine. SECORITAS for SECVRITAS, though not mentioned in RIC, occurs too often to be an error. Cohen 15 lists the legend for three officinae.
