The 'Experienced Involvement' (EX-IN) training programme prepares and certifies individua... more The 'Experienced Involvement' (EX-IN) training programme prepares and certifies individuals who have experienced mental health problems to work as peer support workers and to support others challenged by similar conditions. We aimed to assess the impact of the EX-IN training on hope, self-efficacy, introspection, stigma resistance, personal recovery, health-related quality of life and employment in participants. Data was collected using standardized assessment instruments before the training started (t1) and upon course completion (t2). Data from 103 participants who participated in both measurement times were included into data analysis. Participants significantly improved their recovery, stigma resistance and introspection during the EX-IN training. In addition, a significant higher proportion of participants were employed at t2. Participants whose last inpatient stay was 0-1 year before the start of the EX-IN training showed significantly lower levels of stigma resistance, and self-efficacy at t1 than participants with two or more years since the last inpatient stay. There were no significant changes in mean values over time, or in the mean values at t2 between the two groups. EX-IN training has a positive influence on the handling of stigma, on one's recovery path and introspection. This indicates that EX-IN training has a therapeutic effect on the participants. EX-IN training seems to meet the challenges of peer support work. Therefore, the training can be recommended as preparation for working as a peer support worker as well as an intervention to improve one´s recovery process.

Bioplastic materials from renewable polymers, like proteins, constitute a highly interesting fiel... more Bioplastic materials from renewable polymers, like proteins, constitute a highly interesting field for important industrial applications such as packaging, agriculture, etc., in which thermo-mechanical techniques are increasingly being used. This study assesses bioplastic materials produced by injection from blends previously prepared in a batch mixer using various protein concentrates and isolates. A mixing time of 5 min has been selected in order to ensure correct homogenous blends. A comparison between different protein-based specimens was performed by dynamic mechanical thermal analysis, tensile strength, water uptake and transmittance tests. The comparison reveals that the protein nature and the percentage of plasticizer lead to bioplastics with different properties and, consequently, different applications. Protein concentrates and isolates, wastes and surpluses from the food industry, may be useful for producing bioplastics with suitable mechanical properties and processability, as well as biodegradability, by means of suitable mixing and injection moulding conditions.

The paper also examines the construct validity of the barriers to creativity scale in an Arab non‐Western context.Design/methodology/approachA sample of 125 respondents was used to achieve the research purpose. Sixty patients were randomly allocated into two groups (n=30), Group B received infra-orbital nerve block with 2mL of 0.25% Bupivacaine and Group BK received 0.5mg.kgKetamine for each side added to 1mL of 0.5% Bupivacaine solution diluted up to 2mL solution to 0.25% Bupivacaine concentration. Assessment parameters included; hemodynamics, recovery time, time to first oral intake, postoperative Faces Legs Activity Cry Consolability (FLACC) scores, Four-point Agitation scores, analgesic consumption and adverse effects. To achieve this aim, the study utilized a questionnaire consists of two validated and well established instruments. This questionnaire has been distributed to a sample consist of (500) employees of insurance companies. A total of (327) complete questionnaires has been received back at a response rate of 65%. After analyzing data and testing hypotheses, the results indicated that the level of servant leadership in insurance companies is at the middle and the most prominent practices of servant leadership are associated with the dimension of empowerment, while those associated with the dimension of courage was the less common practice. The results also pointed out that the level of employees’ organizational citizenship behavior was high.
