perhaps not cheap horror, perse.. although the film is low budget.but for those of you who have seen the movie funny games, how do you feel about it?michael haneke has redirected his 1997 austrian classic and now it is in selected theatres nationwide. the recast stars michael pitt, tim roth and naomi watts but the differences between the movie are subtle and chilling.i saw the remake last night and loved it.in fact i am on the hunt for more chilling, disturbing, non-gore [or possibly gore] torture films.any recommendations?

I was very glad to find this community. Everyone thinks I'm nuts because I like the campy old horror flicks, particularly the ones starring Vincent Price. My favorite, I think, has to be Theatre of Blood, but I also like House on Haunted Hill, whose "special effects" crack me up. It has been years since I have seen his others, but now I am trying to collect all those old films. My brother and I, as young children, growing up during the 70's, used to watch a program here called "Shock Theatre" every Sunday afternoon on one of the local stations. Back the, they didn't seem to have much to do on Sundays so they had this program whose sole intent was to show campy, really, really bad old horror flicks. Vincent Price's are the ones I remember the best. Frankly, I wonder if we were living about 20 to 30 years in the past, if we would consider these to be "campy". I kind of believe that VP was actually a very good actor.Aside from Vincent Price movies, has anyone ever seen Killer Clowns from Outer Space (in space no one gets to eat ice cream) or Gory Gory Hallelujah or how about J_esse James meets Frankenstein's Daughter._ I bought the Killer clowns movie but have not yet watched it. The title was enough to sell me. But I am considering buying the other two, based probably on titles. There's a little store in town that has a whole section of these kinds of movies.

I was really excited to find this community. I'm a big horror movie buff but usually I just buy the really cheap double-bill dvd's you find in the discount bin. My friend sam and I watch them all the time, they're absolutely hilarious. Some favorites:-The Devil's Nightmare-Shriek of the Mutilated (about a yeti)-Mother's Day-Pieces-Orgy of the Dead-2000 Maniacs-Burial Ground-Don't Look in the Basementthe list goes on! Just thought i'd share, and see if anyone else has seen these movies, because they're just too awful to not watch.-eric-

I was working at the thriftstore, and wandering around to make sure everything was tidy when what did I espy?? A very good condition VHS copy of army of darkness!!! (you gotta love bruce cambell) anywhoot I quickly snatched this up and popped it into the tv nearest the cash register. So I got to watch cheesey zombie movie goodness at work. I even snuck off next door and snagged some popcorn! I love my job *_*

YAY This community looks promising. Not to many adds and enough psudo-living people to keep conversation interesting ^_^. I find I oftin prefure the cheesey original movies to their twisted, bastardised modern day conterparts. The exorcist made me laugh, but in a good way. I'm always up for a good movie recomendation, and my loval video store has EVERYTHING, because its an actual person owned non-corprate business. They specialise in old movies. Has anyone every seen Rawhead Rex? That was the last movie I rented.

Hello my unconventional conventionalists!I am Rauli, a Finn who currently resides in the Uk, am a confirmed 50's camp horror classic freak. I love films by Ed Wood, William Castle and films that are starred by Vincent Price and Boris Karloff and many more. I try my best to expand my collection of unintentionally funny and bizarre horror films and here in Lond there are quite a few good shops that stock some good stuff. Unfortunately, my budget at the moment is as low as were of those films' that I want to buy on DVD! Oh well. I guess thats all for now, but I am always up for a chat about cheap horror films and films in general or whatever, feel free to introduce yourselves!Cheers!Rauli
