The main goal of this paper was to highlight the importance of social media in the development of... more The main goal of this paper was to highlight the importance of social media in the development of women entrepreneurs in the state of Kosovo, where the number of women entrepreneurs is increasing every day. In this research, two objectives are presented: to analyze the influence of social media on women’s entrepreneurship in the case of Kosovo and to measure the impact of social media usage on sales of women’s entrepreneurship in the case of Kosovo. To realize this empirical research, a questionnaire containing 25 questions was used, and 750 women entrepreneurs answered this questionnaire over a period of 5 months. The results of the analysis are presented through descriptive analysis, Pearson correlation, and the OLS model. The results of this research show that social media has a positive effect on increasing sales in women-led businesses; they have easier access to communication. For the realization of this paper, a special questionnaire was used, where its structure was divided into three parts, where in the first part are presented the demographic questions, in the second part are the questions related to the use of social media, as and the third part includes questions related to the productivity of products and the enterprise in general. In order to achieve the aim, the Pearson Correlation has been used and a multifactorial regression model (OLS) has been modified and adapted, where we have determined the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) as a dependent variable and as an independent variable in the model: (i) Public expenditure on secondary education and (ii) Public expenditure on higher education (university). The data used are secondary data from the Kosovo’s State Budget, Ministry of Finance and Transfers, and Kosovo Agency of Statistics. Purpose: The purpose of this research paper is to highlight the importance of remittances in the ... more Purpose: The purpose of this research paper is to highlight the importance of remittances in the economic development of a country, with special emphasis in Western Balkan countries. Design/Methodology/Approach: This paper is based on the study of theoretical issues, OLS model, fixed (FE) and random (RE) effect model. In addition Hausman test has been applied to determine the appropriate model among Fixed and Random effects. Revealing the results of the Hausman test the Random effect model is considered as the appropriate model, and it implies the existence of positive and significant relationship between remittances and GDP per capita growth in the Western Balkan countries for the time period 2000-2018. Findings: Results based in OLS model findings reveal a positive relationship between remittances and GDP per capita growth. Also the results of the random and fixed effect model reveal positive and significant effect of remittances on the economic growth, thus by increasing remittances the GDP per capita will increase. The results also present that Gross Fixed Capital Formation has a positive impact on the economic growth, where by increasing Gross Fixed Capital Formation, the GDP per capita will increase. Practical Implications: The results of this research are supportive regarding the relationship between remittances and economic growth, yet will contribute to the existing literature as well as for further policy recommendations by the Western Balkan countries. Originality/Value: This research paper is an empirical analysis based on the data provided by the World Bank, for the time period 2000-2018.

Apart from the advantages they have in the period their countries are transitioning, female entrepreneurs also are faced with many challenges. These challenges are faced by female entrepreneurs who are doing business in Kosovo, which is in a transition period. The challenges faced by female entrepreneurs in the state of Kosovo, apart from economic factors, are also cultural factors. Given the role of small businesses in the country's economic development, a number of these businesses are run by women, ventures also known as small businesses. Through this research paper, we will try to highlight the main challenges of female entrepreneurs are facing in countries in transition, and especially in the state of Kosovo, where through the recommendations collected by this research paper, we believe that we will contribute to female entrepreneurs of this country.

I would stress out the Kosovo market has potential for foreign companies to use the strategic management in order to expand their businesses, in this case in close cooperation or any kind of partnership with local companies by using opportunity in doing business in the field of distribution, representation and sales. Foreign interested companies intending to invest in Kosovo can use the strategic management in the field of operation such are: Distribution – usage of distribution strategies by getting into the partnership with domestic companies, Representation – practicing strategic planning of products offering in partnership with local businesses, Sales – can be mingled experience of companies which operate in Kosovo with best practices from other markets. In the frame of this plan, there must be included also human resources, investments in marketing, investments in technology, and noticeably the last one is recently going through great modifications. Based on statistic data Kosovo during recent years have made advanced steps toward the development of all sectors, specifically in textile sector. Therefore, this paperwork aims to step up the priorities and challenges that have the textile sector in the country of Kosovo, a country that is in transition phase.The focus of this study will be textile companies, including manufacturing companies. For the conclusion of this research will be used primary and secondary data. Primary data will be the data received directly from field work, through questionnaire that will be used especially for this research, whereas secondary data will be received by the use of foreign and local literature, also from researched made previously, that have to do with textile sector in all countries of the world.
