2. Submit a helpful tip for artist alley artists
3. Or just send us a message on tumblr!

We're of course going to do our best to answer and provide thoughts on questions we receive, and will be posting reference and resource-focused articles around various AA-related topics, as well as some other content to be revealed :3

Hey all! Can't believe AAtoast! has been around for over 6 years already. LiveJournal has been dying a slow death since that time XD But we're alive and kicking and we're moving over to tumblr! :D So if you're active there please follow us - we want to continue posting and sharing resources and other great references for artist alley fans. We also are encouraging submissions~
A call for artists to work on doujin project(s)
September 11th, 2012
Hey all!
Last month, someone approached me with a proposal of working on a doujin together based on fan fiction they had wrote. But because I had a lot on my plate at the time (as well as now), I couldn't commit to such a project.
So here I am with their call for artists who would be interested in working with this person on a doujin project! The info is as follows:
Looking for an artist who can do doujin work to help me adapt some of my works into doujin form. Primarily one related to Ouran Host Club and another related to Black Butler. For further information contact me at:

or

Is anyone doing Doujinka Festival this year? The organizer has started sending out table confirmations!
It'll be my first time but I can't wait! :D Looking forward to seeing the other artists there and picking up some comics!
More suppliers / services / web tools / references for artists!
August 15th, 2012
Hey all, we're pretty quiet / dead here (on LJ in general, not just this community specifically lol), but just an update that I reorganized and added more links to the directory of suppliers and services. I'd been learning about all sorts of great suppliers and web tools for artists to create, publish and distribute their own awesome creations, both from friends and randomly surfing. So I thought I would list them out for my own reference, and then decided I might as well update that directory.
There are some really interesting sites worth checking out if you're into making and selling stuff! And please share any great resources that other artists should know about! :)

Hello everyone
This is Jessica Simon from Anime North. I was wondering if there are any professional artists who mainly represent their own body of work - not a fanartist and only sell originals (crafter/illustrator/or a mix) in this community who did not apply for either of the artist tables.
If so, could you contact me at kouken_sasarai[@]hotmail.com asap (hopefully by this afternoon) along with a description of what you do and such. I can only take 4 of these persons so please, if you are interested, e-mail me really soon.
Please feel free to pass this on to any industry active/professional artists you know (again, crafter or illustrator and such)and ask them to contact me asap.

Hallloooo my fine feathered friends, I've got a little something here that I've been meaning to post for a while but keep forgetting to, oh I am so forgetful! >_<;;
So in March I did the Hobbystar Comicon (not to be confused with the at least two other Comicons around Toronto, sheesh) and I did it with a friend who had never had a table in the Artist Alley before. I told her she could ask me any questions about con prep that she liked, as I've been around the AA block for a few years now and have my own bag of tricks for getting the job done ;) At some point, I decided to just go ahead and try to write out some main thoughts about what I consider important to keep in mind when getting ready to have a table. The result is a PDF document with a few lists of essential items (in my humble opinion) and stuff that I think about when figuring out how I want to set up my table, with some "take care of yourself" advice sprinkled in there too, because you are all wonderful people who need to take care of yourselves when working hard at the con! :)
Anyhoo, here's the PDF for anyone who wants to check it out, maybe you'll find it useful, maybe you won't - either way feel free to keep it or share it or whatever :)

(either click it to view the guide in your browser or right click and Save As to download it)
Anime North will be here in about two weeks, exciting!! I will be in the Crafter's Corner (I think? They cashed my cheque but I never did get secondary confirmation lol) and I hope to see both those of you I've met before and also get to meet some new people too! :D I go by Sunhawk in person as well :D
Artist Doujinshi/Fanbook/Artbook/BOOKS IN GENERAL Directory
March 12th, 2012
Incomplete Book Directory
Inspired by a thread on the official forums asking if any artists had their own doujinshi or fanbooks. Here is a very incomplete directory of books sorted by artists.
Artists! If you have a book and want to be featured here, please leave a comment and let me know. If you have been listed here and there is wrong info/book sold out/don't want listed, please let me know and I will correct/remove.
The listing will go alphabetically by artists and in this format:
Name of the book / Fandom/Original / Genre (and pairing, if any) / Link
Happy reading!
