A real-time objection detection technique called you only look once (YOLO) was used in the features detection, extraction, and matching of watermelons. The hardware framework of the system was developed on an Arduino microprocessor which integrates the sensors and camera into the system. The accuracy of the developed classifier is about 88% with a loss of 0.3, with images captured automatically saved on a designated folder which makes the detection and classification of upcoming products in the production line more accurate. The classified watermelons were further categorized into two possible states of ripe or rotten condition with an accuracy rate of 85%-90% with the tested data. These data were sent to the cloud via the Wi-Fi module and can be accessed using the Things Speak website (which is an application programming interface (API) for data retrieval and storage via the internet). An easy download option was incorporated into the system to obtain data from predictions and the cloud to a designated comma separated values (CSV) file locally for documentation and reference.

Coupled with the requirement for in-home devices and appliances to share information in real-time, powerline communication (PLC) systems are gaining rapid popularity as a cost-effective alternative to wireless and other wire communication techniques. In this work, the salient properties of PLC systems including mechanism of signal propagation, channel and noise characteristics, as well as signal interference within the PLC network are expounded. Furthermore, the effect of interference of PLC signals with signals from other existing communication channels are emphasized.

It plays a fundamental role in predicting the radio coverage, path - loss, death zone and designing of an optim ized fixed and mobile network systems. This paper analysed and compared two models, Okumura and Okumura Hata on the basis of variation in antenna height and operational frequency of a base transmitting station (BTS) in Ado - Ekiti, Nigeria. The result obtain ed shows that Okumura Hata model has a better signal strength delivery to destination with a less reduced path loss variation compared to Okumura model. Even though there is significant gain of about 12dB when Okumura model parameters was varied it is not better than the signal strength Okumura Hata model will deliver to a destination

Its explosive growth has brought huge revenues to the operators, as well as the government and at the same time benefited the citizens in many ways. However, the principal developmental factors that has continued to mar these benefits is the aggressive complaints from GSM subscribers regarding the horrible Quality of Service (QoS) rendered by the GSM operators across the country. As the number of subscribers of GSM in Nigeria increased, congestion rates also increased and there has been a huge demand for a decent QoS in the country. In this study, three key performance indicators (KPI) parameters, call setup success rate (CSSR), received signal level (RSL) and call drop rate (CDR) were used in assessing the performance of two of the major GSM networks in Ilorin Metropolis of Nigeria, which have been tagged Network "A" and Network "B". A and B monitored are far from providing reliable services to Nigerians. None of the networks in the study met the ≥ 98% CSSR required by the N.C.C. regulations, and none met the ≤ 2% CDR required by the N.C.C. regulations. The problems GSM operation encountered have been attributed to a number of challenges, with cited faults ranging from the Network providers, to regulatory agencies, and even to the Nigerian Government.

This paper aims at establishing a model for an effective granary system to achieve multi-objective balance on real-time monitoring, minimum deployable nodes, coverage efficiency, longer node life, reduced cost and reduced power consumption. Multi-variable linear regression analysis was used to develop the mathematical model which formed the basis for formulating the objective function of the generic algorithm requisite. The simulated result of the model was validated by using a weighted sum method. The optimized model by using the available constraints is a template for a developed network of wireless nodes approach to establish a promising and resourceful representation of an operable granary monitoring system design.

Reliability evaluation is therefore important in power system studies to ensure continuity of power supply in line with the country's increasing population and the need to foster industrialization. This study is centered on reliability assessment of Mofor Injection Substation. This assessment evaluates the performance of the Mofor Injection substation considering various system parameters which contribute to the seamless operation of the station. Historical data obtained from the power substations from January, 2017 to December, 2017 were used to analyze the Injection Substation power reliability. The results obtained revealed a power availability index (ASAI) of 0.7683796 and 0.768968 for Ekete and Orhuwhorun substations respectively. Also, other reliability indices evaluated were SAIDI, CAIDI and SAIFI. The aforementioned reliability results reveals that power distribution at Mofor injection substation can be said to be unreliable, inefficient, undesirable and unstable.

A router was used to set up a wireless connection with an internet protocol (IP)-camera via the IP-camera firmware. As the router broadcast this connection, a link is set up with a personal computer through the network and sharing centre tab on the computer system, thereby creating a wireless connection between the computer and the camera on the internet. Graphical interface designed on MATLAB was used to access the feed from the camera which PCA algorithm explored in detecting and tracking faces in real-time. Security features such as timestamp and database were also integrated with the system developed.

paper presents the implementation of such integrated approach to automating the air-conditioning of various apartments.
Methods/Statistical Analysis: The developing of an integrated system consisting of network of wireless sensor
nodes with well selected components and resourceful capabilities is explained. This network is incorporated to a control
unit connected to air-conditioning systems in various home apartments for automation and central remote control
through short service message (sms). Findings: An integrated system comprising three resulting characterized sensor
nodes and one sink node being integrated with the automated control unit for the air-conditioning systems were implemented
and tested. The system was designed with well selected intelligent temperature/humidity DHT22 sensors,
homogenous XBee radios, arduino boards and wireless network protocol to deliver remotely monitored parameters
from the sensor nodes to a base station. The resulting composite units of the implemented system were products of the
best parameters trade-off in the selection of components and protocols. The same sensor nodes can be increased to the
number of target apartments and integrated to the network system. The transfer of monitored data to the central hub
was wireless and the mode of sending commands to the control unit was through short message service. The approach
conserves energy consumption as it saves the loss time involved in continuous operation of air-conditioning systems.
The system also reduces the health risk in poorly air-conditioned environment for elderly and infants. Applications/
Improvements: The approach can be extended to controlling other appliances in full home automation set-up.

from the sensor nodes to a base station.
