1. Studies
Andromachi Economou studied History-Archaeology (University of Athens, Greece) and she is doctorate in Ethnology-Social Anthropology (Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales, Paris, France).

2. Experience.

She was responsible for 15 years of the Section of Museums of the ETBA Cultural Foundation (now PIOP). She has teached Social Anthropology to the University of Thessaly (2001-2003) and from 2003 she is researcher (now Research Director, A΄ grade) to the Hellenic Folklore Research Centre (Academy of Athens).
In addition she teaches to the Hellenic Open University from 2007.

3. Publications

Her scientific interests are: Anthropology of Material Culture, Economic Anthropology, Museology, Cultural Ecology, Ethnography, Trasfomation of agro-pastorals societies. She has published three books (in greek): 1) The sericulture to Soufli (Η σηροτροφία στο Σουφλί) in collaboration , Athens, ed. PTI.ETBA 1993 2) Nature, Technology and Society in the mountainous communities of Kithairon, (Φύση, τεχνολογία και κοινωνία στις ορεινές κοινότητες του Κιθαιρώνα), Athens, ed. Odysseas, 2007, 3) Material Culture: theory, methodology, evaluation, (Υλικός πολιτισμός: θεωρία, μεθοδολογία, αξιοποίηση) ed. Papazisi, Athens 2014.
She has published many articles in revues and collective books (some of them are at academia.edu), she has written the script and done the scientific research for two ethnographic films and four educational programs, all relative to the above mentioned disciplines.

4. Additional information

She is member of several scientific societies and has been president of the Greek Society for Ethnology for several years (2000-2002, 2006-2008, 2012-2014, 2016-2018) as well as member of the Board occupying various positions on it for many consecutive years.
She is member of Editorial Scientific Board of Ethnologhia (published by Greek Society for Ethnology) and Annual of Hellenic Folklore Research Centre (Academy of Athens). She is peer-reviewer of international scientific journals and programs.
