Caspian Center for Energy and Environment | ADA University (original) (raw)

Caspian Center for Energy and Environment (CCEE) of the ADA University is a core institution providing policy relevant and academic research, teaching and training, as well as variety of outreach activities in the sphere of energy and environment in the wider Caspian region.

The CCEE is the offspring of the strong belief that there is a need for a forum in energy dialogue in one of the most consequential energy regions of the world — in the wider Caspian Basin. Critical sources of inspiration have been the geographical location and functional specialization of ADA University, two features endowing the institution with a unique capacity to meet the challenge.

Azerbaijan, the cradle of oil industry, has historically been one of the most important centers of learning in energy issues. ADA University, on the other hand, has become not only the best regional university in its category, but also a forum for the liveliest debates related to the social, economic and political developments of the Caspian and Black Sea Basins in the global context.

Thanks to the generous support by and a close cooperation with the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), CCEE combines the academic assets of ADA University with the practical expertise of one of the biggest energy companies in the region, projecting this exemplary cooperation to the global level.

CCEE continuously develops global knowledge networks uniting governmental and non- governmental actors, ranging from think-tanks and university departments to governmental agencies and corporate actors with a stake in the wider Caspian Basin.

CCEE studies energy and environmental issues in a comprehensive and integrated manner, guiding effective and pragmatic policies to address regional and global energy issues. It strictly adheres to the values of rigorous ethic of objectivity, critical awareness and civic engagement.
