Anyone need a job? Interesting new site for anyone looking for a job...or MIGHT ever be looking for a job in South Florida. Not sure if they're based in Florida or not, but they do have a lot of referrals to Florida employers. Neat idea.

Hey from Sarasota... Have been busy with my relocation to Sarasota. So far it has been very fun, but I am still wondering where there is to go around here for fun. I am not really a bar type, love 80s clubs, but there don't seem to be any not bombarded with frat kids. Love epensive restaurants like Flemings or Rustic Grill, but you can only do that every so often or I will be homeless in Sarasota.
Anything else going on?
We need to promote this community more!!!

Wait..... For those of you who think now, as in today, is the time to buy real estate, think again! Our real estate prices have increased over the last three years. But - They are now capping off, and in fact, property values are decreasing. Investors who thought they would come into the area, buy up crap loads of property and sell it to the locals for $100,000 more than it was the year before just lost their expected profit.
The ratio for condominium available to the ratio of people living in Sarasota is now 1/19. That is significant. It means that there are now too many available condos, leaving great competition. Investors have bought nearly all of the large apartment complexes here, thinking that they would make huge profits. Maybe 1-3 years ago this was true, but not now:)
I am a local. I have been for 25 years. My son is native born, and I, personally, am quite happy that the 'investors' market is crashing:) :) :)
If you are coming to live here - great! Don't come here to invest and think that you are going to turn crappy 1960's Florida homes with a carport and terrazzo floors into a quarter of a million plus homes. How many doctors and lawyers want to live in a house like that??? You have to be someone with a good business or master's degree to accomplish that.
Shame on the investors for trying to eliminate the very people who make Sarasota what it is!
