Music and languages formed the basis for the European Music Portfolio project (2009-2012; http://... more Music and languages formed the basis for the European Music Portfolio project (2009-2012; http://www.emportfolio.eu), aiming to support teachers in their profession, by combining theories, methodology and practices. The focus of this paper is the study procedure on the impact of the international CPD courses for teachers, as one of the EMP -tools. One of the most interesting results reported was a better focus found by the teachers on the learning processes of children due to the experiences of integrating music and languages. How does music work in transversal learning and integrated teaching, as a support for the teachers?

In this paper, the connections of musical elements, reflected in prenatal development, to define human learning through multisensory experiences, is being connected with the development higher education. Theories, pedagogies and musical-artistic experiences as an inner human power are explored as a necessity in education comprehension, with examples of research-oriented cocreational networks and projects.

Die Idee der Entwicklung einer Integrated Music Education ist alt. Sie entzündete in den letzten ... more Die Idee der Entwicklung einer Integrated Music Education ist alt. Sie entzündete in den letzten Jahrzehnten heftige Kontroversen und baute einen Gegensatz zwischen ‘Bildung in Musik’ versus ‘Bildung durch Musik’ auf. Dieses dichotomische Verständnis hindert allerdings eine konstruktive und zukunftsgerichtete Bearbeitung der entsprechenden Spannungsfelder in der Musikpädagogik. In diesem Beitrag wird ein Modell besprochen, welches die fachliche, die kulturelle und die Persönlichkeits-Bildung als miteinander verbundene Aspekte begreift in welchen ihrerseits das Spezifische mit dem Allgemeinen, dem Generischen interagiert. Die Annahme, dass Musiklehrpersonen ihr Fach in der Schule dann besonders gut und nachhaltig unterrichten, wenn sie gleichzeitig an den Bezügen und am Dialog mit den involvierten Personen, Disziplinen und Kulturen interessiert bleiben, gilt es zu untersuchen.

Music is one of the most universal of all art forms - but it is also an important medium of commu... more Music is one of the most universal of all art forms - but it is also an important medium of communication and learning, especially in the context of language and loteracy development. songs, melodies and sounds play a vital role in child language learning, there are many ways in which musical elements can be used to promote langauge learning strategies ans skills. This article sums up important findings in the fields of language acqusition research, neurolinguistics and educational psychology and investigates the potential of interdisciplinary and integrative approaches to music and language education.
