The stone was used as well as fire to shape and utilize the natural environment of humans. The space that has been shaped by dry stone constructions becomes a place where the special relations between the societies and their natural environment develop, where the people intervene and create micro-environments and microclimates. These relationships acquire meaning within a "culture", or many "cultures", when more than one community coexists in the space. These cultural peculiarities and locations are also due to the fact that the names and technical terms that refer to the various uses of dry stone (dry stone: pietra secco) differ from place to place.

The seat of the Municipality is Sofiko, 30 km SE of Corinth. Ancient Solygia is the area where one of the fiercest battles of the Peloponnesian War took place in 425 BCE. The Sofiko Castle rests at the top of Mount Tzalikas, the highest peak of the Soligeia peninsula, which towers over the community of Sofikos. Almost the entire top is surrounded by a dry stone wall. In the central axis of the dry stone construction there are ruins of a perfectly square watching tower and two temples, one of which has obviously been founded on a stone structure of older construction.

The minister's interest is focused on the events of 1801, a time when an elected popular assembly, in Corfu, tried to overthrow the so-called "Byzantine" constitution of 1800. That constitution was in place in the Treaty of Constantinople of March 21, 1800, which established the "Ionian State" in the context of an international order.

Shannon in the mathematical theory of communication (Shannon and Weaver 1964). It is linked to a quantity measure of entropy — seen as both disorder and irreversibility — and to markovian processes (Nicolis and Prigogine, 1989) that could be interpreted as reflections of past experience. Information in binary digit units (bits, octets, etc.) is also what we feed our computers with. The term is therefore technical and is a metaphor from everyday language into probabilities and combinatorial analysis. There are however more than mere analogies between this sort of information, subject to abstract logic, and the "mundane" (humanistic) one consisting in providing knowledge of something to someone, in making sense, in giving instructions, in transmitting factual data or simply in telling or writing down. In practice, mathematical information is an element of knowledge we code for preservation, processing or commun...
