The impact of a lightning electromagnetic pulse (LEMP) on a power line or power station produces ... more The impact of a lightning electromagnetic pulse (LEMP) on a power line or power station produces an effect similar to that of switching between a significant power source and a power line circuit. This switch closure causes a sudden change in routing conditions, creating a transient state. This situation has been studied in terms of electrostatic and electromagnetic induction, as well as overvoltage changes. Appropriate mathematical models were used to analyze these changes. While vertical electric field analysis has been carried out in a few studies, magnetic field and horizontal electric field vectors have not been studied. In this study, the Rusck formulation and the Heidler current formulation are combined at the current level, developed and analyzed. This is because the Rusck expression can sometimes give incorrect results at the current level. Also, in the analysis, electromagnetic field formulations based on accelerating charges are used instead of the dipole approximation to eliminate the need for interpolation in the graphical results. In contrast to other studies in the literature, this study proposes the use of moving and accelerating load techniques to better understand the effects of LEMPs on power transmission lines. Also, in this study, the double exponential problem of the current form in Rusck’s formulation is addressed in order to obtain a close approximation of the physical form of the LEMP. Additionally, the field–line (coupling) relationship is studied according to a unique closed formulation, leading to important determinations about the overvoltages generated on a line depending on the propagation speed of the LEMP sprout and the electrical changes in the area where the LEMP first occurs

Bu çalışmada ses dalgalarının farklı ortam yüzeylerinde meydana getirdiği basınç ve hız değişimle... more Bu çalışmada ses dalgalarının farklı ortam yüzeylerinde meydana getirdiği basınç ve hız değişimleri ele alınmıştır. Ultrason dalgalarına benzerliği nedeniyle çalışmada ses dalgaları kullanılmıştır. Dalga modeli olarak, gauss nabız dalga modeli kullanılmıştır. Ortam yüzeyleri olarak hava, su, metal, soil , polietilen gibi cansız yüzeyler, doku türleri da olarak bağ doku ve kas dokusu yüzeyleri analizlerde kullanılmıştır. Seçilen bu ortam yüzeylerinde, akustik dalgalarının oluşturduğu basınç etkileri, zamanda sonlu farklar (FDTD) metodu kullanılarak incelenmiştir. Örneklenen gauss ses dalgasının analizinde, iterasyon sayısı arttıkça yayılım değeri de artmaktadır. Polietilen yapılı katmanlarda ise sesin oluşturduğu basıncın etkisinin düşük olduğu (Pplastik=39,5 µPa ve Vplastik=13,17 µm/sn) tespit edilmiştir. Canlı dokulardan bağ dokusu ve kas dokusu üzerinde yapılan incelemede ise bir ses dalgasının bu iki doku üzerinde benzer basınç (Pbağ=1,295 Pa, Pkas=1,282 Pa) ve hız (Vbağ=0,63 µm/sn, Vkas= 0,58 µm/sn) değerleri oluşturduğu gözlenmektedir.

This control is carried out as wireless communication. Wireless communication could have also been performed by means of RF (Radiofrequency) communication; however, the very common use of Android devices today directed this study of ours. The disadvantage of bluetooth communication is its failure to support as far distances as those of RF communication, whereas the disadvantage of RF communica tion is that it is troublesome in terms of security. We can elucidate this in the following way: to make a bluetooth connection between an Android device and the system, the cipher we call “the matching cipher” should be known by the user. Turning off this switch generates a transient state by causing a sudden change in circuit conditions. In order to minimize the damage caused by this situation on the lines, protection elements are used. If a LEMP impact falls on a power plant or power transmission line, the most effective way to protect against them is the use of surge arresters. They ensure that these peak currents are drawn to the ground thanks to their non-linear resistance structures and are generally used at the entrance of transformer centers. The characteristic parameters of the lightning electromagnetic pulse (LEMP) current have been inv... more The characteristic parameters of the lightning electromagnetic pulse (LEMP) current have been investigated for many years on the basis of the isolation coordination by scientists studying in the field of electricity and physics. The necessity of studying in this area has arisen in order to protect the electrical and electronic equipment inside the power transmission lines and electrical installations against the harmful effects of the harmonic current of the lightning electromagnetic pulse. In this study, the over-voltages, which occur due to the lightning electromagnetic wave strikes on the pylons, were investigated with the Alternative Transient Program (ATP). The Heidler function is used to simulate the LEMP model. Analyzes of the over-voltages that occur as a result of the lightning strike to the protection conductor on the top of a grounded pole or one of the pole conductors of the pylon are carried out. Moreover, high voltage, electric field and magnetic field changes in the environment where the lightning electromagnetic pulse strikes are analyzed numerically in MATLAB using Rusk equations and compared with ATP simulation results.

Driveline infection is the manifestation of symptoms such as edema, warmth, purulent discharge in the skin tissue. These symptoms cause lesions in the skin tissue. In this study, image processing techniques were used to detect driveline infection that may occur after implantation of LVAD due to heart failure. K-means algorithm was applied to determine the region of interest of the exit point of the driveline above the skin tissue. The feature extraction methods were utilized to investigate the driveline infection.
