The study was designed to examine the relationship between Emotional Intelligence and Organizatio... more The study was designed to examine the relationship between Emotional Intelligence and Organizational Performance in commercial banks in Uyo Metropolis of Akwa Ibom State. A cross-sectional survey was adopted for the study and a sample of 162 respondents was drawn from the population of 271 using Taro Yamane's scientific sampling technique. For the objectives of the study to be achieved, two hypotheses were formulated and tested. The study utilized structured questionnaire and interview as the major instruments for data collection. 162 questionnaires were distributed and 135 were returned. Data were collected and analyzed using simple percentage and ordinal logistic regression. Results showed that there is a significant and positive relationship between variables of emotional intelligence such as self-control, self-management and, and employee performance in commercial banks in Uyo Metropolis of Akwa Ibom State. It was recommended that, self-control should be sustained by bank employees by continually developing the capacity to alter their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors to align them with organizational goals to enhance performance as well as developing the capacity to manage emotions as one of the major determinants of harmonious relationship among members in an organization.

The study examined the relationship between credibility and organizational sustainability in Trin... more The study examined the relationship between credibility and organizational sustainability in Trinity Polytechnic, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. A survey research design was adopted for the study. A sample of 240 respondents was drawn from the population of 600 using Taro Yamane's scientific sampling technique. For the objectives of the study to be achieved, three hypotheses were formulated and tested. The study utilized structured questionnaire and interview as major instruments for data collection. 240 questionnaires were distributed and 200 were returned. Data collected were analyzed using simple percentage and simple regression. Results showed that, there is a significant relationship between variables of credibility such as transparency, inconsistency and accountability and organizational sustainability in Trinity Polytechnic, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. It was recommended that, transparency policies should be continually implemented by Trinity Polytechnic, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, Trinity Polytechnic should be consistent with the policies that drive growth and innovation. Finally, it was recommended that organizational accountability should be continually espoused by Trinity Polytechnic, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State to drive growth and innovation.

This study was designed to examine the relationship between Open Innovation and Organizational Pe... more This study was designed to examine the relationship between Open Innovation and Organizational Performance in selected firms in Akwa Ibom State. To achieve this objective, a survey research design was utilized. Data were collected through questionnaire carefully designed and administered to the respondents. A total of 30 copies of questionnaire were distributed to respondents, out of which 28 copies were returned and found to be correctly filled. This gave a response rate of about 97%. Regression analysis was conducted to examine the strength of the relationship between each of the dependent and independent variables. The result of the study showed a positive significant relationship between open innovation and organizational perf ormance in selected firms: Airtel Nigeria Limited, Uyo, Globacom Nigeria Limited, Uyo and MTN Nigeria Limited, Uyo. It was recommended from the study that, Airtel Nigeria Limited, Uyo, Globacom Nigeria Limited, Uyo and MTN Nigeria Limited, Uyo should be more proactive in the provision of modern technologies to encourage rapid knowledge sharing and be more concerned with personnel training to encourage employees' effectiveness and improved performance.

Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. The purpose of this research study was to examine the effect of organisational ethics on Corporate Social Responsibility in united Bank for Africa Plc., Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. The study was designed to assess some aspects of Corporate Social Responsibility in United Bank for Africa Plc. Practice in Uyo base on the rule-based theory, virtue-based ethical theory, right-based ethical theory and justice-based ethical theory. To achieve the purpose, a sample size of 68 staff of united bank for Africa Plc. Uyo was used for the study. The sampling technique used was the Taro Yamen scientific formula. The instrument used in collecting the data was the organisational Ethics and Corporate Social Responsibility (OECSR). The instrument was designed with the help of the supervisor and experts in Business Administration Faculty and Evaluation. The reliability of the instrument was determined using the Cronbach Alpha (α) method. An r-value of 0.88 was obtained. The data obtained were analysed using the Pearson Product Moment Correlation to test the hypotheses at 0.05 confidence level. Mean score analysis was carried out to answer the research questions. The findings of the study revealed that bank's accurate accounting practices, bank's good labour practices and bank's environmental stewardship have significant effect on performance of corporate social responsibility in United Bank for Africa Plc. Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. Thus it was recommended from the study that internal discipline, accurate accounting practices and strong operational ethics rooted in good corporate governance should be put in place in the banking sector.

This study was designed to examine the relationship between personality traits and voluntary leav... more This study was designed to examine the relationship between personality traits and voluntary leaving organization in selected government establishments in Akwa Ibom State. To achieve the study objective, a survey research design was used. The population of the study consisted 90 senior staff in personnel Department from the Ministries of Agriculture, Finance and Information in Akwa Ibom State. A total sample size of 60 respondents were selected using stratified random sampling technique. Data were collected through questionnaire titled "Personality Traits and Voluntary Leaving Organization Questionnaire (PTVLOQ)" carefully designed and administered to the respondents. A total of 60 copies of questionnaire were distributed to respondents, out of which 58 copies were returned and found to be correctly filled. Data collected were analyzed using tables, simple percentage and Regression. The result of the study showed a positive significant relationship between personality traits and voluntary leaving organization in selected government establishments in Akwa Ibom State. The findings also revealed that employees who scored high in openness to experience as well as neuroticism are bound to make a voluntary decision to leave their organizations. It was recommended from the study that, government establishments in Akwa Ibom State should introduce and maintain a fair and effective reward system for outstanding performances so as to motivate employees to always put in their best and remain in their organizations.

The study examined the relationship between time planning and academic performance in Ritman Univ... more The study examined the relationship between time planning and academic performance in Ritman University, Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom State. A survey research design was adopted for the study. A sample of 228 respondents was drawn from a population of 600 using Taro Yamane's scientific sampling technique. For the objectives of the study to be achieved, four hypotheses were formulated and tested. The study utilized structured questionnaire and interview as major instruments for data collection. 240 questionnaires were distributed and 228 were usably returned. Data collected were analyzed using simple percentage and ordinal logistic regression. Results showed that, all the independent variables maintained insignificant relationship with academic performance in Ritman University, Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom State. It was recommended that, students should have realistic expectations, which can decrease pressure, stress, anxiety and imbalance sense of well-being for them to perform at their best academically, students should avoid distracting factors such as noise or visual stimuli, or internal factors, such as thoughts or emotions whether from multitasking, technological devices, environmental factors, or non-academic activities for effective academic performance, students should manage interruptions effectively through good communication skills, planning, and the ability to prioritize tasks and activities. Finally, it was recommended that students should avoid procrastination by timely task completion, decreased stress levels, increased motivation and proper time planning management to achieve academic goals.

To achieve this objective, survey research design was adopted for this study. The population of the study consisted of the nine departments of the institution with a sample size of 90. The study utilized a multi stage (random and purposive sampling techniques). The instrument used for data collection was Time Management and Achievement of Academic Performance Questionnaire (TMAAPQ). The questionnaire was used to obtain information with regards to independent variables. Tables, simple percentage and Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient were adopted as analytical tools for this study. Three hypotheses were formulated and tested at 0.05 level of significance using tables and Simple percentage to answer the research questions and Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient to test the hypotheses. The study examined the relationship between school management and students' performance in privat... more The study examined the relationship between school management and students' performance in private secondary schools in Uyo metropolis, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. The descriptive and survey methods were adopted for this study. The population of 90 students was adopted for the study using purposive sampling techniques. For the objectives of the study to be achieved, two research questions and two hypotheses were formulated and tested. The study utilized structured questionnaire and interview as the major instruments for data collection. Data collected were analyzed using simple percentage and Pearson Product Moment Correlation (PPMC). Results showed that there is a significant and positive relationship between variables of school management such as teachers' behaviors, time management and students' academic performance in private secondary schools in Uyo metropolis, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. It was recommended that, management of private secondary schools in Uyo metropolis, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria should be effective in time management and be more proactive in human capital management programs to ensure effective and improved performance of both teachers and students.

A survey research design was adopted for the study and a sample of 240 respondents was drawn from the population of 600 using Taro Yamane's scientific sampling technique. For the objectives of the study to be achieved, three hypotheses were formulated and tested. The study utilized structured questionnaire and interview as the major instruments for data collection. 240 questionnaires were distributed and 220 were returned. Data collected were analyzed using simple percentage and regression. Results showed that there is a significant and positive relationship between variables of school climate such as safety, school infrastructural facilities, school neighborhood and students' academic performance in Trinity Polytechnic, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. It was recommended that, risk management strategies that will enhance and sustain the safety of students in Trinity Polytechnic, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State should be adopted to improve students' academic performance as well as regular monitoring and evaluation of school infrastructural facilities should be carried out in order to detect dilapidated and harmful facilities which might hinder academic activities and students' academic performance in the Polytechnic.

The study was designed to examine the relationship between human capital management and organizat... more The study was designed to examine the relationship between human capital management and organizational performance in United Bank for Africa Plc, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. To achieve this objective, survey research design was adopted for this study. The population of the study consisted of management staff, senior staff and junior staff of the United Bank for Africa Plc. Uyo, Akwa Ibom State which is made up of 82 staff with sample size of 68 staff. The study utilized Taro Yamane Scientific technique. The instrument used for data collection was Human Capital Management and Organizational Performance Questionnaire (HCMOPQ). Tables, Mean, Standard Deviation and Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient were adopted as analytical tools for this study. Two hypotheses were tested at 0.05 level of significance. The result of the study showed that there was a positive significant relationship between human capital management and organizational performance in United Bank for Africa Plc, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. The result of the findings also revealed that organizational performance is dependent on the extent of its staff training and timely appraisal of employees. This implies that increased investment in staff training and timely appraisal of employees by the bank would yield greater returns in organizational performance.

The study was designed to examine the relationship between Distributive Justice and Employee Turn... more The study was designed to examine the relationship between Distributive Justice and Employee Turnover Among Bank Workers in Akwa Ibom State. Ex-post facto design was adopted for the study and a sample of 314 respondents was drawn from the population of 1465. For the objective of the study to be achieved, five hypotheses were formulated and tested. The study utilized triangulation of methodologies (structured questionnaire and interview) as the major instruments for data collection using Taro Yamane's scientific sampling technique. 314 questionnaires were distributed and 299 were returned. Data collected were analyzed using simple percentage and Ordinal Logistic Regression. Results showed that there is a significant and positive relationship between variables of distributive justice such as unequal distribution, inequitable distribution, mismatched needs and personality traits, and employee turnover variables of voluntary resignation, employee abscondment and employee satisfaction among bank workers in Akwa Ibom State. The finding further revealed that there is no significant relationship between variable of distributive justice such as unjust distribution of responsibilities and employee turnover variable of employee commitment among bank workers in Akwa Ibom State. Consequently, it was recommended that, banks in Akwa Ibom State should introduce fair and equal reward systems for outstanding performances so as to motivate and retain employees. Justice should be fairly distributed among bank workers in order to discourage voluntary resignation. There is need for bank workers to inhibit behaviors that may encourage turnover but rather reattribute such behaviors as a mean of restoring justice. Responsibilities should be justly distributed among bank workers in order to boost employee commitment. Specific attention should be given at the beginning of the employment relationship to firstly establish and agree to personality traits that would benefit both parties in the employment relationship.

Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. The purpose of this research study was to examine the effect of organisational ethics on Corporate Social Responsibility in united Bank for Africa Plc., Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. The study was designed to assess some aspects of Corporate Social Responsibility in United Bank for Africa Plc. Practice in Uyo base on the rule-based theory, virtue-based ethical theory, right-based ethical theory and justice-based ethical theory. To achieve the purpose, a sample size of 68 staff of united bank for Africa Plc. Uyo was used for the study. The sampling technique used was the Taro Yamen scientific formula. The instrument used in collecting the data was the organisational Ethics and Corporate Social Responsibility (OECSR). The instrument was designed with the help of the supervisor and experts in Business Administration Faculty and Evaluation. The reliability of the instrument was determined using the Cronbach Alpha (α) method. An r-value of 0.88 was obtained. The data obtained were analysed using the Pearson Product Moment Correlation to test the hypotheses at 0.05 confidence level. Mean score analysis was carried out to answer the research questions. The findings of the study revealed that bank's accurate accounting practices, bank's good labour practices and bank's environmental stewardship have significant effect on performance of corporate social responsibility in United Bank for Africa Plc. Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. Thus it was recommended from the study that internal discipline, accurate accounting practices and strong operational ethics rooted in good corporate governance should be put in place in the banking sector.

To achieve the study objective, a survey research design was used. The population of the study consisted 90 senior staff in personnel Department from the Ministries of Agriculture, Finance and Information in Akwa Ibom State. A total sample size of 60 respondents were selected using stratified random sampling technique. Data were collected through questionnaire titled "Personality Traits and Voluntary Leaving Organization Questionnaire (PTVLOQ)" carefully designed and administered to the respondents. A total of 60 copies of questionnaire were distributed to respondents, out of which 58 copies were returned and found to be correctly filled. Data collected were analyzed using tables, simple percentage and Regression. The result of the study showed a positive significant relationship between personality traits and voluntary leaving organization in selected government establishments in Akwa Ibom State. The findings also revealed that employees who scored high in openness to experience as well as neuroticism are bound to make a voluntary decision to leave their organizations. It was recommended from the study that, government establishments in Akwa Ibom State should introduce and maintain a fair and effective reward system for outstanding performances so as to motivate employees to always put in their best and remain in their organizations.

A survey research design was adopted for the study. A sample of 228 respondents was drawn from a population of 600 using Taro Yamane's scientific sampling technique. For the objectives of the study to be achieved, four hypotheses were formulated and tested. The study utilized structured questionnaire and interview as major instruments for data collection. 240 questionnaires were distributed and 228 were usably returned. Data collected were analyzed using simple percentage and ordinal logistic regression. Results showed that, all the independent variables maintained insignificant relationship with academic performance in Ritman University, Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom State. It was recommended that, students should have realistic expectations, which can decrease pressure, stress, anxiety and imbalance sense of well-being for them to perform at their best academically, students should avoid distracting factors such as noise or visual stimuli, or internal factors, such as thoughts or emotions whether from multitasking, technological devices, environmental factors, or non-academic activities for effective academic performance, students should manage interruptions effectively through good communication skills, planning, and the ability to prioritize tasks and activities. Finally, it was recommended that students should avoid procrastination by timely task completion, decreased stress levels, increased motivation and proper time planning management to achieve academic goals.

For the objectives of the study to be achieved, three hypotheses were formulated and tested. Data collected were analyzed using simple percentage and simple regression. Results showed that, there is a significant relationship between variables of credibility such as transparency, inconsistency and accountability and organizational sustainability in Trinity Polytechnic, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. It was recommended that, transparency policies should be continually implemented by Trinity Polytechnic, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, Trinity Polytechnic should be consistent with the policies that drive growth and innovation. The descriptive and survey methods were adopted for this study. The population of 90 students was adopted for the study using purposive sampling techniques. For the objectives of the study to be achieved, two research questions and two hypotheses were formulated and tested. The study utilized structured questionnaire and interview as the major instruments for data collection. Data collected were analyzed using simple percentage and Pearson Product Moment Correlation (PPMC). Results showed that there is a significant and positive relationship between variables of school management such as teachers' behaviors, time management and students' academic performance in private secondary schools in Uyo metropolis, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. It was recommended that, management of private secondary schools in Uyo metropolis, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria should be effective in time management and be more proactive in human capital management programs to ensure effective and improved performance of both teachers and students.

The study was designed to examine the relationship between Emotional Intelligence and Organizational Performance in commercial banks in Uyo Metropolis of Akwa Ibom State. A cross-sectional survey was adopted for the study and a sample of 162 respondents was drawn from the population of 271 using Taro Yamane’s scientific sampling technique. For the objectives of the study to be achieved, two hypotheses were formulated and tested. The study utilized structured questionnaire and interview as the major instruments for data collection. 162 questionnaires were distributed and 135 were returned. Data were collected and analyzed using simple percentage and ordinal logistic regression. Results showed that there is a significant and positive relationship between variables of emotional intelligence such as self-control, self-management and, and employee performance in commercial banks in Uyo Metropolis of Akwa Ibom State. It was recommended that, self-control should be sustained by bank employees by continually developing the capacity to alter their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors to align them with organizational goals to enhance performance as well as developing the capacity to manage emotions as one of the major determinants of harmonious relationship among members in an organization.

A survey research design was adopted for the study and a sample of 240 respondents was drawn from the population of 600 using Taro Yamane's scientific sampling technique. For the objectives of the study to be achieved, three hypotheses were formulated and tested. The study utilized structured questionnaire and interview as the major instruments for data collection. 240 questionnaires were distributed and 220 were returned. Data collected were analyzed using simple percentage and regression. Results showed that there is a significant and positive relationship between variables of school climate such as safety, school infrastructural facilities, school neighborhood and students' academic performance in Trinity Polytechnic, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. It was recommended that, risk management strategies that will enhance and sustain the safety of students in Trinity Polytechnic, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State should be adopted to improve students' academic performance as well as regular monitoring and evaluation of school infrastructural facilities should be carried out in order to detect dilapidated and harmful facilities which might hinder academic activities and students' academic performance in the Polytechnic.

To achieve this objective, survey research design was adopted for this study. The population of the study consisted of management staff, senior staff and junior staff of the United Bank for Africa Plc. Uyo, Akwa Ibom State which is made up of 82 staff with sample size of 68 staff. The study utilized Taro Yamane Scientific technique. The instrument used for data collection was Human Capital Management and Organizational Performance Questionnaire (HCMOPQ). Tables, Mean, Standard Deviation and Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient were adopted as analytical tools for this study. Two hypotheses were tested at 0.05 level of significance. The result of the study showed that there was a positive significant relationship between human capital management and organizational performance in United Bank for Africa Plc, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. The result of the findings also revealed that organizational performance is dependent on the extent of its staff training and timely appraisal of employees. This implies that increased investment in staff training and timely appraisal of employees by the bank would yield greater returns in organizational performance.

The study was designed to examine the relationship between Distributive Justice and Employee Turn... more The study was designed to examine the relationship between Distributive Justice and Employee Turnover Among Bank Workers in Akwa Ibom State. Ex-post facto design was adopted for the study and a sample of 314 respondents was drawn from the population of 1465. For the objective of the study to be achieved, five hypotheses were formulated and tested. The study utilized triangulation of methodologies (structured questionnaire and interview) as the major instruments for data collection using Taro Yamane's scientific sampling technique. 314 questionnaires were distributed and 299 were returned. Data collected were analyzed using simple percentage and Ordinal Logistic Regression. Results showed that there is a significant and positive relationship between variables of distributive justice such as unequal distribution, inequitable distribution, mismatched needs and personality traits, and employee turnover variables of voluntary resignation, employee abscondment and employee satisfaction among bank workers in Akwa Ibom State. The finding further revealed that there is no significant relationship between variable of distributive justice such as unjust distribution of responsibilities and employee turnover variable of employee commitment among bank workers in Akwa Ibom State. Consequently, it was recommended that, banks in Akwa Ibom State should introduce fair and equal reward systems for outstanding performances so as to motivate and retain employees. Justice should be fairly distributed among bank workers in order to discourage voluntary resignation. There is need for bank workers to inhibit behaviors that may encourage turnover but rather reattribute such behaviors as a mean of restoring justice. Responsibilities should be justly distributed among bank workers in order to boost employee commitment. Specific attention should be given at the beginning of the employment relationship to firstly establish and agree to personality traits that would benefit both parties in the employment relationship.
