Alabama Weather (original) (raw)
Many more schools are closing early. So, any kiddies that you got to pick up from school, you might want to check to see if your school is closing.
They have placed most of Alabama under a tornado watch until 6:00 pm.
Stay tuned to local radio and TV ...
Blah, blah, blah, I figure you all know the drill =)
I have heard that they are still working on a timeline for when the weather is suppose to turn rough. They are saying supercells, tornados, hail and straight line winds could happen.
There is already a couple of school systems that is closing early. Cullman County at noon and Cullman City at 1. They are thinking the rest of the school systems may fall into line with them.
Just watch out, and keep a NOAA weather radio nearby if you have one.

Alrighty folks, lets see if we can get this community going. Alabama weather is anything but boring. Well, at least, most of the time. HAHA
A system is suppose to be coming through the state tomorrow. It is hot here for the time of year it is. Hitting close to 70F.
This is copied and pasted from channel 19's website:
A few showers and thunderstorms are possible after midnight - especially in the Shoals. Strong to severe storms will move through the Tennessee Valley tomorrow afternoon. Severe storms are possible as early as noon in the Shoals tomorrow. The main threat is damaging winds, but isolated tornadoes are possible. Expect cooler temperatures over the upcoming weekend.
Maybe will get some good pictures? If I managed to get at least one, I will post.

...SEVERE WEATHER OUTBREAK POSSIBLE FRIDAY AFTERNOON INTO SATURDAY MORNING...
A POTENT STORM SYSTEM MOVING OUT OF THE GREAT PLAINS WILL SET THE STAGE FOR A POTENTIALLY SIGNIFICANT SEVERE WEATHER EVENT FRIDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING.
WARM UNSTABLE AIR COUPLED WITH VERY STRONG WINDS AND WIND SHEAR ALOFT WILL CREATE THE POTENTIAL FOR SIGNIFICANT SEVERE WEATHER. THUNDERSTORM DEVELOPMENT IS LIKELY BETWEEN NOON AND 4 PM FRIDAY... WITH PERIODS OF STORMS EXPECTED THROUGH FRIDAY NIGHT.
SOME OF THESE STORMS WILL BECOME SUPERCELLS CAPABLE OF LARGE HAIL... DAMAGING WINDS...AND POSSIBLY STRONG TORNADOES. THE THREAT OF SEVERE WEATHER IS GREATEST FROM MID AFTERNOON THROUGH LATE EVENING...BUT ACTIVITY CANNOT BE RULED OUT EARLIER OR LATER THAN THIS.
IN ADDITION...IF THE STORMS SUSTAIN THEMSELVES WELL INTO THE OVERNIGHT HOURS...LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL AND POSSIBLY FLASH FLOODING COULD BECOME A THREAT LATE FRIDAY NIGHT.
THIS IS BECOMING A POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS WEATHER SITUATION. STAY TUNED FOR FURTHER OUTLOOKS AND FORECASTS FROM THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE REGARDING THE POTENTIAL FOR SEVERE WEATHER FRIDAY.
