Alan Ramponi (original) (raw)
Welcome! I’m a senior researcher in computational linguistics and NLP at Fondazione Bruno Kessler, where I’m part of the Digital Humanities group.
My research focuses on language variation across many dimensions (e.g., non-standard varieties and dialects, domains, registers, social factors). I am interested in how NLP can contribute to the study of language variation, and how accounting for language variation can contribute to more robust, fair, and inclusive NLP.
Previously, I was a visiting researcher in the NLPnorth group at the IT University of Copenhagen. I earned my Ph.D. in computational linguistics from the University of Trento, working as a research assistant at Microsoft Research Cosbi. Prior to that, I completed my M.Sc. in computer science cum laude at the University of Trento.
