medical shows, the good and the ugly (original) (raw)

A short review this time - you know my reviews get longer the more House/Wilson scene are in it, and this time there weren't a lot.

Things I liked (not H/W):
- two patients at the same time. It was a fuller episode, more complete, in a way.
- Foreman going to Chase and Cameron for help
- seeing Chase and Cameron. Chase looked good and they both were smart and helpful. *thumbs up*
- Taub's line "I have Huntington's". LOLL. well, he found a way to have 13 get personal with the patient. ;)
- House just waiting for Foreman to use his balls and simply tell him instead of asking. I figured that out since the beginning (well. the title of the episode was a bit of a giveaway), but it was still good to see. Almost... educational, and noble on House's part.

Things I liked (H/W version):
- "Don't screw with my stuff". LOL. And House got away from it. As someone said, House is so Wilson's bitch. ;)
- Wilson finding yet another way to throw House off-balance. And yes, House figured it out, but it was still good to see.
- the elevator scenes. :)
- "you are a noble ass". LOL.
- the last scene, Wilson assuring House that he's going to be okay? Aww. You know, for how much I ship them (and I do), those little caring gestures that highlight their friendship are probably my favorites.

On the other hand, I'm glad that this is ER last season, because assisting to this slow agony is painful!

I watched all the episodes in a few days and I was so pissed off.
First episode, Pratt dies. What?? I wasn't that attached to the guy, but that is not the way to do it! And also, why does every character need to have a tragic ending? Couldn't they simply go work somewhere else?

Thankfully, at least Abby and Luka seem okay, though I was sorry to see them go.

I don't have anything to say about the new interns - though one of the guys is cute - and the Aussie doc - which is cute as well, though I'm not much into him. Speaking of which... the accent! wow, Chase's is nothing against that, I could barely understand him!

But then... Gate is still a sleazy kind of guy, one I'm never going to like.
Neela comes across once again as selfish, indecisive and sluttish.
And what was the point of bringing Ray back? To see that he was doing well? Okay. But to bring him back and then not have that night with her - that was cruel.

And finally, Anthony Edwards. More than anything else, it was his presence that was heartbreaking. And not that he wasn't good, or because I missed him. Because his presence reminded my of when this show was fuckin' great.
And they are not able to pull it off anymore. *sighs*

And finally, three video recs:

Hugh Laurie getting dunked for charity
As I said before, he rocks the tux!

Alternate version of House credits
This one is funny and very well done!

Working class hero (Jack)
Angsty video for Jack Shephard. I'm going to rec this one on crack_van too, because I find it really good. The song is really appropriate for Jack and the scenes the vidder chose are too, imo.
