"If people want to know who I am, it is all in the work". - Alan Rickman

British actor Alan Rickman has played many truly memorable roles, from "Harry Potter's" Professor Snape to the Sheriff of Nottingham in "Robin Hood", to his debut role in "Die Hard" as the gorgeously evil Hans Gruber. And there are many more that aren't as well known, but they should be! And that's the purpose of this community...to celebrate the characters this wonderful actor has played, from the cult classic, to the iconic, and to the obscure.

In this group we will....
* Discuss the characters played by Alan Rickman
* Discuss the source work, including books, movies and other non-Rickman adaptations
* Dicuss Alan Rickman himself, in a respectful manner
* Post and discuss fan-fiction written about the CHARACTERS played by Mr. Rickman
* Participate in writing challenges on a weekly and montly basis
* Highlight one character a month for special attention
* Have pic spams and other fannish fun...
* CELEBRATE! Alan is a fantastic actor and deserves it!

In this group we will not....
* Post fanfiction written about Alan Rickman himself
* Reach tabloid-like lows in discussing Alan Rickman...such as excessive conversation about his sexual preference, his weight, his personal life. A little speculation is fun and part of being a celebrity, but let's remember Alan is a person too.
* Dissrespect each other.

Other Things You Need To Know...
* Adult content is fine (Alan has a way of making minds go that way) but please place it under a cut.
* The biggest rule in this comm is respect. For each other as people, for each other's work and for Alan himself.
* Pic spams are great, but please place more then one or two pictures below a cut.
* Writing challenges are not required, just a way to get more Alan-character fan fiction out there, since there's a short supply with the exception of Professor Snape.

Writing Stuff
* Once a week we'll post a short writing challenge...the Alan 100. It will be a word or theme, and the point is to at least write a drabble (one hundred word story) about it. Which differs from other "100" challenges, is that you don't have to stick to just a hundred words. You can write as much as you want, one hundred is just a starting point.

* Once a month, we'll be posting a longer theme that you can write, usually seasonal. If the muse inspires you, you can write several different stories about this theme, as long as they are about Alan's characters.

* Also once a month we will be highlighting a character for special attention. Feel free to lavish him with more fan-fiction!

If you have any more questions, please let me (MimiTheMuse) or Beck (Brandi1498) know!
