_11:43 am_[narfness77] Hi there, I am new to this community.I am 29 years and my husband and I are trying to conceive. I have (average) a 31 day cycle, which means I would have ovulated around 8th Jan. I can also tell when I ovulate because I get strong cramps. This happens every month. Anyway, my husband and I had intercourse on 6th and 7th Jan. Just wondering if there is a high chance I could be pregnant? I know its early but a couple days ago I started to get lower abdominal pains and my breasts feel tender. They also feel really firm too.I took a pregnancy test first thing this morning and got a BFN. My period isn't due to start around 21st Jan. The test I bought said I could try 7-5 days before a period.Just wondering, could my tender, firm breasts be an early sign of pregnancy? Did any of you have really early symptoms? Or am I just wishful thinking?I am now 6 days past ovulation. Thanks in advance. :) (Comment on this)

_11:35 am_[pympxchrissy] Cramping? Is this normal? Hi, my name is Chrissy. I'm new to the boards. I'm 5 and a half weeks pregnant. I'm not due to see the doctor for two more weeks, but I just had a quick question. Is cramping normal or is it a sign of complication? I haven't really had much morning sickness yet, and since I've never been pregnant before I don't know what it really feels like. All I know is that I feel sharp pain in my lower abdomen, vagina and even my buttocks, this accompanies the nausea I get (but only after eating sweet foods). Is this normal? _12:37 pm_[rainbowhime] I think I may be pregnant, but I have my Period! Hi all, I am just searching for some answers, or help, or whatever. Here's the deal. I'm...pretty sure Im pregnant. My breats have been so sensive lately, and their are weird blue veins throught my breasts, and in my areola, my areloa is also a bit darker. And I also have been pretty hormonal lately, mood swings galore..but I just got my period last friday. However, I was talking to my best friend and she said she had her period twice while she was first pregnant. And I know another girl, and the same thing happened to her. I just want to know if Im just making this weird feeling I have into something not real, because I want it so badly. Any advice at all? And if I turn out not to be pregnant...could you give me some links or advice on fertility advice. SO I can know when my peak is, and how to help my chances improve on conceiving?I would see a doctor..but I am not covered by insurance at the moment, and am getting married soon. Please Email me as well to help me out if you have any information. This is my first child, if I am pregnant, so I know practically nothing. Current Mood: hopeful (3 Comments |Comment on this)

_9:54 pm_[wholuvsya] New Community Hi everyone! I just started a new community, called miscarriagehelp. It is for those of us who have had a miscarriage (or two or three) in the past and want to share our stories and offer our support to those who are going through it now. I started the community, mostly, to help my sister in law who is having a rough time with her miscarriage...she's having a really hard time finding anyone who isn't so self absorbed that they can listen to HER...if you don't have the need for a community like this, maybe you'll know someone who does. Please pass along our name....thanks so much..you guys are GREAT!!xposted like crazy (Comment on this)

_11:02 pm_[wholuvsya] Hello I am new to the community, I am not pregnant, am not planning on becoming pregnant anytime soon, but I thought I would just say this. Folic acid, taken 3 months before conception helps reduce the risk of neural tube defects in children. Neural tube defects, most commonly, spina bifida, happens within the first 3 weeks of being pregnant. Most women do not know they are pregnant at this point. Spina Bifida is the most common debilitating birth defect and can usually be prevented by taking your prenatal vitamin. Any woman of child bearing age should be taking 400 micrograms of folic acid each day. Your body processes synthetic folic acid better than natural folic acid, but that shouldn't discourage you from eating dark leafy greens, strawberries, or cantaloupe (most common sources of folic acid) I am an avid supporter of folic acid and spina bifida prevention because my beautiful son, Gabriel, was born 20 months ago with spina bifida...if you have questions, concerns, or comments, please leave them and I will be happy to get back to you. For those of you in Illnois, you can check out the Illinois Spina Bifida Association's website for lots of info... www.illinoisspinabifidaassociation.orgThanks and here's to many healthy mommas and babies!!! _2:23 pm_[helper_no1] Hi everyone, love this community!! MY hubby and i are currently trying to fall pregnant (I'm 25 years old). I have a question - I know it is strange - I'm used to wearing tight clothing - would this hinder our chances of falling pregnant? I know it is an odd question - but I want everything to be on my side, if you know what I mean! :) (1 Comment |Comment on this)

_3:52 pm_[charmedones2004] Trying to Conceive: Myths and Truthsby Marjorie Greenfield, M.D.reviewed by Marjorie Greenfield, M.D.Chance plays a major role in determining when you get pregnant. On average, if the sperm arrive when the egg is ready for fertilization, only about 30 percent of women will miss their next menstrual period and have a positive pregnancy test. The remaining 70 percent, despite doing everything right, will have to wait and try again. When you're trying to become pregnant, these odds can seem just fine if you are in the 30 percent group and conceive within the first few months, but it can be very frustrating if your number doesn't come up.( ...Collapse ) (Comment on this)
_3:29 pm_[charmedones2004] Vegetarian Moms to BE How can I make sure I'm getting the nutrients I need from a vegetarian diet?"Many pregnant women who eat a vegetarian diet worry that they're not getting enough protein," says Elizabeth Somer, a dietician and author of Nutrition for a Healthy Pregnancy: The Complete Guide to Eating Before, During, and After Your Pregnancy (Owl Books, 2002). In fact, she says, it's pretty easy to fulfill your protein needs just by drinking cow's or soy milk.( ...Collapse ) (Comment on this)

_11:01 pm_[immortal_cyn] Trying to concieve.... Hi girls,My names Melissa. My fiance' and I have decided that we want to try and concieve within about three months. I'm looking for any advice I can get about pre-pregnancy care, diet, lifestyle, etc.A few things to consider:- In June, I miscarried three months into my first pregnancy. We believe it was due to stress (my mother, namely....) or physical activity (right after I saw my Dr., I started bleeding and was put on 7 days of strict bed rest.... on day nine or ten, I got up and went to the grocery store, and started bleeding heavily which led to a miscarriage)- I have quit smoking/drinking- I have started a Yoga routine twice a week, and I walk/jog two or three days a week for about 30 minutes.- I am a octo-lovo vegetarian (I eat poultry, and meat byproducts like eggs and milk, but no pork, beef, veal, etc.)So, with all that aside, do any of you have any reccomendations of how I can get my body and mind into top condition to be able to support a pregnancy?? Thanks so much!!! (3 Comments |Comment on this)

_2:55 pm_[charmedones2004] What to expect during DR. Visits First Trimester The first visit to the doctor may only require that a confirmation b-HCG blood test is performed to confirm the results of the home pregnancy test. However it is quite likely that the obstetrician will use the time to record several details also. If a confirmation blood test is requested then a second follow-up visit will be required soon afterwards. ( more...Collapse ) (Comment on this)
