The term adolescent and young people are often used interchangeably, as are the terms Adolescent Health and Youth Health. Young people\'s health is often complex and requires a comprehensive, biopsychosocial approach. Social, cultural and environmental factors are all important areas of focus in adolescent health. Young people have specific health problems and developmental needs that differ from those of children or adults: The causes of ill-health in adolescents are mostly psychosocial rather than biological. Young people often engage in health risk behaviours that reflect the processes of adolescent development: experimentation and exploration, including using drugs and alcohol, sexual behaviour, and other risk taking that affect their physical and mental health. Adolescent health also encompasses children\'s and young people\'s sexual and reproductive health (SRH).

However, there is limited understanding of the onset, progression and impact of alcohol use among adolescents in India. The aim of this study is to compare pre-test and post-test level of knowledge regarding alcoholdependence among adolescent groups, develop structured teaching program for adolescent groups regarding alcoholdependence and find out the association between knowledge scores with their selected demographic variables. Result shows that the mean was 16.54 before teaching and after teaching it was 25.5 and is statistically significant at p<0.05. • There was significant association found between the pre- test knowledge scores with number of drinks consumed by the subject.

Objectives: The objective of this study was (1) to develop a structured training program for ASHA workers on newborn care based on ASHA module 7 "Skills that saves lives." (2) To compare the reported practices of ASHA workers with regard to newborn care before and after the administration of structured training program. (3) To determine the association between the practice scores and the selected demographic data, i.e., age, years of experience, and education. (4) To assess the acceptability of ASHA workers about training programs regarding newborn care. Materials and methods: Quantitative research approach was selected with one group pre- and posttest design. A random sampling technique was used for the selection of ASHA workers. A structured practice questionnaire on newborn care was prepared to assess the practices of ASHA workers and a structured opinionnaire to assess the acceptability of the training program. Result: The findings revealed that the mean of posttest scores (25.6) was higher than the mean of pretest scores (14.5) with a mean difference of 11.1. There was no association between practice scores and selected demographic variables, i.e., age, years of experience, and educational status of ASHA workers. Conclusion: The structured training program on newborn care was effective in improving the practices of ASHA workers.

It is estimated that 600 000 to 800 000 needlestick injuries occur per year in the United States. Of these, many, if not most, go unreported. In response to the risk of exposure, institutions have focused on primary prevention as a means of reducing the incidence of needlesticks and thereby decreasing the number of bloodborne pathogen transmissions. Needlestick injuries still occur, however, and it is important that individuals in the health care field become well informed about the exposure risks and educated regarding the appropriate response.

Shortages of skilled health workers, particularly in underserved areas, have been identified as a key facet of the growing human resource crisis. These shortages are driven by a number of factors: the dramatic increase in demand for health workers in high-income countries that has created a tremendous pull of health workers into these countries; increasing morbidity, mortality and absenteeism rates, coupled with increasing workloads due to the impact of the HIV/AIDS pandemic; and inadequately funded and poorly managed and performing health systems, which lead to deteriorating working conditions in many underserved areas, creating a strong push factor. “You treat a disease, you win and you lose.
