The aim of this study was to characterize knowledge about anger in children with mild intellectual disabilities. The study used the authoring tool to measure children's knowledge of emotions, including anger. This tool facilitated the exploration of the cognitive representation of the basic emotions available in three codes (which perform the functions of perception, expression, and understanding) and the interconnections between them. Children in the intellectual norm (N = 30) and children with mild intellectual disabilities (N = 30) participated in the study. The results mainly indicated differences in how anger was understood by particular groups, to the detriment of children with a disability. The results were largely determined by the child's level of organization of knowledge about anger and accompanying mental operations.

Material and methods: The research project was conducted the Wielkopolskie voivodship in Poland. The participants were paramedics (n = 72; 54 men, 18 women) and dispatchers (n = 66; 35 men, 31 women). The following Polish versions of standardized tools were used: the Impact of Event Scale-Revised (IES-R), Toronto Alexithymia Scale-20 (TAS-20), and the Event Related Rumination Inventory (ERRI). Results: Analysis of the correlation with Spearman's test demonstrated a statistically significant relationship in both groups between the symptoms of PTSD and ruminations and alexithymia and intrusive ruminations. The correlation between intrusive ruminations and PTSD was stronger for the paramedic group. Also, in the paramedic group, ruminations acted as a mediator for the relation of alexithymia and the intensity of post-traumatic stress. Conclusions: The results of the study provide some evidence that paramedics present more PTSD symptoms than emergency call centre operators. The important individual features which increase PTSD are emotional-cognitive aspects of mental processing: ruminations and alexithymia. The paramedics' direct participation in traumatic events is more overloading for them than the indirect participation in traumatic events for dispatchers.

The disease may manifest as superficial peritoneal or deep-infiltrating endometriosis or as ovarian endometriomas. Although the mechanisms associated with the regulation and production of inflammatory mediators in endometriosis have been widely investigated, the precise mechanism responsible for inflammation-induced pain remains unclear, and the findings related to the cytokine expression profile and the location of cytokines in cells are contradictory. The intensity of pain experienced by endometriosis patients is not proportional to the degree and severity of their disease. Pain has a significant impact on women suffering from endometriosis. Methods: The following inclusion criteria to the study were: presence of endometriomas vs teratomas, negative pregnancy test result, no prior obstetric and infertility treatment, and good health condition with no diseases or coagulation disorders. Blood samples were collected from all patients. The serum levels of chemokines were determined by ELISA. The Nottingham Health Profile (NHP) questionnaire was made. Results: The median serum levels of chemokines: Monocyte Chemoattractant Protein 1 (MCP-1) and Monocyte Chemoattractant Protein 3 (MCP-3) were statistically higher in the endometriomas group compared to the other two groups. In the NHP questionnaire the comparison of the subjective health dimensions in individual groups showed that the patients in the endometriomas group experienced a significantly higher intensity of "PAIN" compared to other groups. Correlation analysis between NHP dimensions and serum chemokine levels: spearman's rank correlation analysis indicated a statistically significant relationship between the "VITAL ENERGY" dimension and the level of MCP-2 (r =-0.295; p = 0.022), MCP-3 (r = 0.254; p = 0.050), and RANTES (r =-0.353; p = 0.006); between the "EMOTIONS" dimension and the level of MCP-3 (r = 0.262; p = 0.043); and between the "INCONVENIENCE IN DAILY LIFE" dimension and the level of Eotaxin-1 (r =-0.283; p = 0.028) and CCL13 (r =-0.287; p = 0.026). Conclusions: The chemokines serum levels (i.e., MCP-1 and MCP-3) and intensity of "PAIN" were statistically higher in the endometriomas compared to the teratomas group of women. Therefore, understanding their role in endometriosis-related pain could help in the development of novel, multidisciplinary treatments.

Medical personnel working at the time of the pandemic may experience elevated occupational stress due to the uncontrollability of the virus, high perceived risk of infection, poor understanding of the novel virus transmission routes and unavailability of effective antiviral agents. This study used path analysis to analyze the relationship between stress and alexithymia, emotional processing and negative/positive affect in healthcare workers. The sample included 167 nurses, 65 physicians and 53 paramedics. Sixty-two (21.75 %) respondents worked in COVID-19-designated hospitals. Respondents were administered the Toronto Alexithymia Scale-20, Cohen's Perceived Stress Scale, Emotional Processing Scale, and the Positive and Negative Affect Schedule. The model showed excellent fit indices (χ2 (2)=2.642, p=0.267; CFI=0.999, RMSEA=0.034, SRMR=0.015). Multiple group ...

The character of the results is largely determined by the level of organization of knowledge about joy and accompanying mental operations.

Przedmiotem badania o charakterze eksploracyjnym jest autoewaluacyjna samoświadomościowa emocja zlozona – wstyd. Uczestnicy badania ( N = 29) zostali poproszeni o opisanie autobiograficznego wspomnienia, podczas ktorego doświadczali wstydu. Uzyskane od badanych narracje zostaly skategoryzowane przez sedziow kompetentnych i poddane hierarchicznej analizie skupien. W rezultacie otrzymano prototypowy opis wstydu. Ponadto otrzymano wyniki dotyczące: (1) charakterystyki prototypu emocji zlozonej, (2) analizy strukturalnej prototypu wstydu, (3) „potencjalnej syntezy” w obszarze emocji postkognitywnych.
