Comprising over 120 artefacts, it is one of the most impressive Bronze Age finds within Pomerania. The authors discuss the hoard's contents and context, as well as its chronology.

At the Late Bronze Age necropolis in Wartoslaw, tools used in metalworking were unearthed from a mass grave belonging to the Lusatian people that can be dated to 1100–900 BCE. Twelve out of over 70 ceramic vessels from the burial pit were identified as urns that contained the ashes of at least eight deceased individuals, including two adult men, one young woman, one unspecified adult, and at least four children. Metallographic, chemical, and petrographic investigations of mortuary goods were used to determine their provenance and use in metalworking. The results of these investigations were used as a proxy to analyze the mass grave according to the ritual and social strategies of the era, including the status and organization of Lusatian metalworkers, and to consider the possibility of identifying their burials in the archeological record.

For nearly a thousand years, they acted as a kind of buffer between the buoyant Silesian centre, which had achieved its culture-making role thanks to direct exchange contacts with the Transcarpathian and Danubian-Alpine centres of the south, and West Pomeranian groups inspired from the west and northwest by the Nordic circle. The importance of Lubusz-Greater Poland (Wielkopolska) populations to the overall cultural picture of the territories on the banks of the Oder River can hardly be overestimated, so it is worth analysing this phenomenon in more detail. One of the significant cultural elements is the ceramic style. It can be a means of manifesting outside the identity of a group, the identity consolidated by a tradition functioning within this group. It is hard to imagi...

The author inscribes the major role in the formation of the early Lusatian groups in western Wielkopolska to communities from Lower Silesia. From this territory culture impulses radiated along the Odra river, which led to the emergence of the early assemblages of the Urnfield culture in western Wielkopolska and the Lubusz Lands at the beginning of phase III of the Bronze Age.

One of them represents an unknown form, morphologically similar to Tłukomy type, whereas the other one (only its bow has been preserved) probably belongs to the Wymysłowo-Wróblewo type, isolated in the items collection as a brooch with a decorative foot (Fusszierfibeln). Both copies are an element to research the relative chronology of the decline of the Hallstatt period and the beginning of the Pre-Roman period in Wielkopolska.

Bearing in mind the vastness of issues, only two major research questions shall be addressed: cultural taxonomy (mainly in respect to the Lusatian culture) as well as and the chronology and periodisation of the abovementioned prehistory period in the general historical and methodological contexts

It presents a stylistic analysis of images from the urn and its lid, as well as an attempt at their semantic interpretation, on the basis of former conclusions from the subject literature, regarding in particular anthropomorphic images on pottery dating from the Late Bronze and Early Iron Age
