I got this over 15 months ago. I think this is a great fryer. I have cooked a cake, meatballs, lasagna, bread, onion rings, fries, wings, nuggets, egg rolls, fish, shrimp, scallops, crab cakes, chicken, and 100 other things in it, but, admittedly, I use it three times as much to warm leftovers. I mean anything you have leftover that was fried comes out as good as when you ordered it the restaurant. Seriously - as long as you don't over cook it, it is perfect.
At first, I was haunted by the reviews that showed the coating coming off the basket after the first time, or some of the other negative reviews. So glad I did let those few overcome me! 15 months later - my basket looks like new. I don't even wash it but maybe once a week (and by wash I mean squirt dawn into a damp soft sponge and wipe it down - that's all it takes, because nothing sticks. Rinse and dry.) I can only imagine what those people did to scrape the coating off - and I bet they will never admit it either.
Plug it in, push the second button from the left (15 mins @ 370 default). Up down temp on the left - Up down time on the right. Push the second button from the left and cook. It is amazingly simple and so fast. Don't like the default - it has like 8 preset choices.
What do you expect from a fryer? Simple, Easy, Non-stick, and produces great leftovers plus fresh fried and baked food. All checked! This thing is amazing.
The only minor negative I have is the temp only changes in 10 degree increments - like there is no 325 degrees possible. So minor - use 320 and be done with it. Easy-Peasy. Comes out perfect anyway.
21 month update: finally a couple of issues.
- On the bottom pan is a rubber support to keep the proper distance between the bottom and top pans. This support has rubbed a small section of the coating off.
- The plastic ‘nut cover’ fell of and I tossed it out.
Neither has any impact to the operation whatsoever.
Included pics of the 2 issues plus a pic of the top of both pans. This is after near daily use over 21 months. Still an amazing buy and value to me.
30 month update: Multiple daily uses with great results. Fried some chicken wings for lunch today (not leftovers either). Delish!! Absolutely no change from the 21 month update. Wash once a week - I squirt Dawn on the soft side of a sponge (not the scrubby side) - dry with a paper towel. Never dreamed this would last 2 1/2 years.
OK!! 48 Month Update: Continue to use this daily - even multiple times a day. Again fried chicken wings for lunch (I see a theme). I do have to clean it every time a fry wings (they are messy). I continue to clean as described above. It is definitely not as shiny and some spots just don't come off anymore, but it works as well as day 1. I see the price has gone up a little bit ($50 to 72).Ihavereadsomeoftheotherreviewsanddunno−maybeluck,butmysisterhashad3fryersinthe4yearsIhavehadthisone.IthinkIamgoingtosendheroneoftheseforapresent.Whowouldhavethoughta72). I have read some of the other reviews and dunno- maybe luck, but my sister has had 3 fryers in the 4 years I have had this one. I think I am going to send her one of these for a present. Who would have thought a 72).Ihavereadsomeoftheotherreviewsanddunno−maybeluck,butmysisterhashad3fryersinthe4yearsIhavehadthisone.IthinkIamgoingtosendheroneoftheseforapresent.Whowouldhavethoughta50 air fryer would last 4 years? Not me, but I am so happy I bought this product.

Really works well, especially for meats

I have done various types of steak, lobster (with meat both in an out of shell), scallops, bacon, hot dogs, hamburgers, and I must say the meat comes out even better than if I cooked it on my gas grill outside! Depending on the temperature I set it, I can crisp the meat nicely on the outside and still have a nice medium rare on the inside, once you get the timing down right (try 370F for 12mins for a T-Bone steak - pull out at 4 mins left, flip meat, and put it right back in and it resumes timer). When cooking meat, I expected there to be smoke or something, but nothing has yet smoked on me. I don't know about all air fryers, but this really cooks nice and quick without any real supervision; I only "flip" the meat and I'm not sure I really even need to do that. It is easy to operate and more importantly, very easy to clean! The controls are great and responsive and I had expected it to be louder, but it is quieter than my microwave (which I haven't used since I got this). I'm only two weeks into using it, but I have used it two times a day and it has reduced the attention I need to spend on making sure things like bacon or steak don't overcook. I must admit, I'm usually only try and write good things in reviews, but this review was well deserved. One note, I have not tried anything else but meats in this fryer, so you'll have to go to another review to get the skinny on veggies and baked stuff. Thank you for a reasonably priced and perfect product for me and my diet!
Update (2mo) - Still working perfectly. Still love it. Non-stick coating on basket is flaking a bit though in spots. Going to get shaped stainless steel grill to place in the basket since I don't want to eat non-stick coating flakes.

If you're like me, you take chicken nuggets really, really seriously. They are your go-to dinner on weeknights when your week is blowing up. They are your grab and go breakfast when you're running late. They're there for you in sickness and in health, in good times and in bad and they almost seem to know how you're feeling without you even having to say anything. They are your tiny rocks in the sea of life. You love chicken nuggets... you know you can't live with them microwaved, if you eat any more from a fast food place your arteries are going to explode, and so this obsession extends into your impulse purchases, to the point where you, like me, drop $100 on an appliance that you really only intend to use on chicken nuggets #NugLife
I'm just going to get straight to the point here. The air fryer is AMAZING at cooking chicken nuggets. Done. The rest of this review will reveal the secret setting of the perfect chicken nugget and talk about the air fryer experience #NugLife
This air fryer is huge. This air fryer also looks like Darth Vadors head. When you unwrap this, if you are not humming the imperial march in your head, I'm honestly surprised. Look at the picture and marvel at how enormous this air fryer is next to my Soda Stream. Wonder at the hordes of people you could feed chicken nuggets to... Shudder at the incredible amounts of counter real estate you would need to sacrifice to this device... Then think about perfectly crispy and moist chicken nuggets at your fingertips... #NugLife
Even after reading through the manual you are going to struggle a little bit with the airfryer UI. Don't worry too much - the only setting you really need to know is for chicken nuggets and this is...
350 degrees for 7 minutes.
Bam.
Just turn it on, adjust the time and temp and start the cycle with the nugs in there are you will have nuggets that would bring a vegan to their knees, begging for a taste of your nugs #NugLife
This appliance is slick and futuristic and easy to clean. I hear in other reviews that you need to be gentle when cleaning the basket so I will hand wash. I don't think it gets too hot, but I'm keeping everything about 5" away as directed in the instructions. This is like an easy bake oven for adults that specilizes in chicken nuggets and for way less than other air fryers. Bless you, GoWISE.
In closing, I leave you with the nug commandments:
1. Thou shalt have no other love before nugs.
2. Thou shalt make unto thee many nugs in the kitchen.
3.Thou shalt not take the name of thy nugs in vain.
4. Remember the nugget day, and eat them wholly.
5. Honor thy fillings and thy breadcrumbs.
6.Thou shalt not kill thy appetite.
7. Thou shalt not commit nugdultery.
8. Thou shalt not steal nugs.
9. Thou shalt not bear microwaved nuggets.
10. Thou shalt not covets thy neighbors nugs.

I like it, but I have concerns

This was actually a replacement purchase. A while back (during the days of Amazon Treasure Truck) I got one of these at a fairly steep discount. I have to say that I loved it, it worked like a better microwave. I could heat up or reheat food to better flavor and consistency, temperature controls were great and I discovered a lot of versatile ways to use it including being able to fry eggs, make grilled cheese, even make breaded porkchops.
So you may wonder why my review isn't better. Well the answer is that the first one basically fell apart. Now it went through a move and I can accept that maybe it got damaged during the move or something similar. But we had a couple screws fall out during what I could classify as normal use. In addition after one fall to the floor the baskets container would not fully reconnect with the device. It also started randomly shutting off during use.
Now all of this could be chalked up to wear and tear and operator error, and if I'm honest the other options at the price point either didn't have enough volume or didn't offer enough temperature control for the versatility I wanted. But I also noted that some of the problems I mentioned were being echoed in the comments. I was concerned but given the alternatives I decided it would be best to stick with what I knew. Now, overall it does work well and I haven't had it try to shut itself off, however I have had a few instances where the basket and basket container will not seem to want to fit back in. In this case I know I haven't dropped anything and neither have my roommates. While it still functions it does have me concerned that the product may have a more limited lifespan or some kind of common internal issue.
I was considering 3 stars but for now the issues have been fairly minor and the other advantages still win out. I will also add that anyone looking to buy it look at getting the liner paper as it is a lifesaver as well as strongly recommend looking at some of the accessories to allow for cooking eggs. All other things considered in a studio apartment I would probably be fairly well set up with this and a decently good slow cooker

So I am really happy with my purchased. This was my first time purchasing an air fryer in my home. I spent an endless amount of time online terrified I would have a buying nightmare. However, I am a happy camper.
Let's get into specifics:
Size:
size is significantly great for two or more people. I usually cook for myself and another person. It is average sized for counter space. It could easily replace the space I keep my Keurig machine.
Manageable:
Utensils are easy to clean my favorite part. If needs excessive soaking from the dish I've made, you can soak for a while with no concerns. I love the stainless feel of the unit. Made well no easy to detach. Smart suggestions detach while on surface.
Leakage:
I head some other units tend to do this. This was not the case with the product. I use it on my counter. There is a vent located on the upper back area (as there should be). As a precaution, I am always mindful of its location, but it has not been alarming. it has been very close to me and does not seem to be harmful.
Weight:
Is light. I have a location where it is stored. I have a favorite location to move it to, to store.
Temperature
It goes up to 400. It cooks my food evenly. Amazing with fries, pork chop, burgers and bacon. Follow the books guide on food selection. I made a copy and have it attached to my fridge. It is my go to. I know Tatar tots are considered fries, but you should stay at 350 / 370 (10 minutes).
Sound
Very quiet. I ofter like to do my audio reading while cooking, or work at home. It makes very little noise. You can watch tv, have a phone call. when I wake to my room I cannot hear it at all.
Read the reviews before purchasing it - Feed back. I read some comments about the chipping away of paint of fabric. I am not being judgmental. I live for reviews, buy this is pretty impressive quality. Three months or even six, what the heck are you guys doing. I am very particular about the things in my house, so I stack right away and I have a special sponge for it. I am only so careful because I know this summer I will be using it more, as I am in a small apartment and my oven warms the entire place up.
I love the product. I never heard of Gowise before this. I am happy.

I purchased my first air fryer, a 2-qt., back on TG day. I chose an inexpensive non-digital model, because I wasn't sure if I would like it, or if I would use it. That one had loose screws and acorn nuts holding the handle to the basket. They fell off into some kale chips I cooked for my family. I notified the mfr. and they did not replace the basket with a new one, but with a whole new machine in January. That one's been fine, but I wanted a larger one and a digital one. Sometimes, I want to toast a bun when I am cooking a burger, or some kind of meat. It was a tough fit. The only accessory I could find for my 2-qt was the aayu air fryer baking pan, which is excellent, fits several models and comes with a small, but great digital cookbook. I highly recommend it.
I finally upgraded to the GoWise 5.8 qt. 8-in-1 and I have been very pleased and happy with my, technically, 3rd air fryer. I now have digital controls, much more interior room-and it isn't much larger than my old one. It fits on my limited counter just as well as the 2-qt did. I was worried about that and it was part of my decision to go with the 2-qt initially. The GoWise is very well-made. I don't anticipate any screws falling into my food for sure. The user's manual is pretty good-much better than the Samsung ones I have had recent experience with lately, and the one that came with the 2-qt.
It also comes with a hard copy of their 50 recipe cookbook, which is available digitally at the GoWise USA website, along with several others. The recipes are clear, written in American English, are for dishes we eat, and each one has a color picture of the end results. I have tried several recipes from it and they have turned out well, especially the "Pizookie". I ordered the 6-piece accessory set from GoWise and the grill pan from Amazon. Everything arrived very promptly, is well-made, and nicely packaged. GoWise is good to deal with. The accessories are very well-thought out and I am going to enjoy using them.
This model has 8 pre-set functions for Fries, Pork, Fish, Steak, Cake, Pizza, Shrimp and Chicken. I have done a pork chop using the pork function, and it was pretty close. I only had to add a couple of minutes because I had a thicker pork chop. The Instruction Manual also tells you what the pre-sets are, so does the air fryer itself, and more importantly, you can change both the time and the temperature. That is a very nice thing, and very much appreciated. My Samsung convection/microwave has a Slim Fry function that mimics an air fryer, and that and all of the pre-sets are not available to the consumer, and Samsung will not tell you what they are, only use "appropriate" dishes. That's hard to do when you don't know the temp. There aren't very many options on some of their pre-sets. "Frozen egg rolls"-but what do you do if they are fresh? GoWise has clearer cooking instructions, for more different things, and things Americans cook and eat. That's very nice and leads to less hair-pulling. 8)
I can recommend the GoWise Air Fryer very confidently.

I've never used this for regular use but I've had it for 7 years and it's very useful for making a bunch of foods. Wings, French Fries, Roast Chicken, Empanadas, and warming up multiple foods to crispy. The basket handle doesn't hold like it should anymore. The drip tray will fall if I try to pick it up by the handle. It is easy enough to pick up by the entire peace with the drip tray, without the handle, mitigating the issue.
If mine ever stopped working, I'd definitely buy another. Even the auto settings work pretty good but it is so good at distributing heat you might end up with darker food than you want. You can clumsily stack food in it and it will cook it all fine. Just remember to shake the food in the basket to move it around a bit so spots blocked by unavoidable blockage can get browned too. I like checking in 7-10 minute intervals in case I need to shake/adjust the orientation of the food being cooked.
I've made a whole roast Chicken in this thing. I wouldn't advise it because it was kind of difficult to get out but that's because I just dumped it in there without foil. After a couple times of resetting the timer, it cooked that chicken to 160f internal and it was very evenly roasted. - 5 out of 5 stars

It cuts cooking time in half. It's pretty big and the basket is not as big as I'd like but it's quiet which I love. It's easy to use and easy to clean. It's not too heavy but for an older person it could be. I don't know how sturdy it is... I haven't tried to drop it to find out. hahaha. Cooks pizza dough well if you out it in there without ingredients and then out the sauce and cheese on it.
