How customer reviews and ratings work

Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

I have a lot of fun experiencing this book with my small children. The artwork is really the meat of the book. While learning about the words is fun and educational, the real fun is had by experiencing the outstanding job the illustrator did with each word.
5 stars for a fun journey I wish could have been longer.

This is a very large book. It's only 32 pages long so it almost comes off as a kids' picture book. Which, basically it is a picture book. In the 32 pages it only highlights 12 words in total. Thus, each word gets a huge illustration spanning two pages with a small paragraph of where the word comes from. It's educational, it's fun, it's short. The art is creative, it looks like the illustrator really had a lot of fun with this. I guess I just wish there was more. If I was going to invest and pay full price for a book like this, I think I'd want to have more than 12 random words to read about. I feel like it wants to be a coffee table book, but kind of falls flat there. Overall, the concept is really fun, the art is great, I just want more!

This is a book that tells where certain words come from, what their current meaning is and what their original meaning is. It also tells the origin of the word and the pronunciation of the word. And it tells a little about the word. The illustrations are fantastic. They really make the book even better.

This book is a treat for the ear and eye. It provides a wonderful introduction for curious kids, and even adults may learn a thing or two about the origin of words. The illustrations enhance the study through the richness of color and by creating images that incorporate sly humor and great visual design. My only criticism is that it is too short. No reader would be satisfied with twelve words!

I loved the idea of the book, but it turned out to be less exciting. It does have words listed, with pronunciation and origin, and how the meaning changed over time with a very short article about the word - just one or two sentences. But it is self-contradictory what they wrote in some places. Like they said that word Safari came from Swahili, and in the next sentence it says the word was borrowed from Arabic.
There is a language map at the back of the book, but it has so many colors for different languages and the map itself is not marked, and on top of that, there are areas with multicolored crosshatching to represent at least two groups of languages used in the area. You cannot tell the difference between colors in many cases because the colors are not clean flat colors, but speckled, and the map is rather useless other than to show that yes, there are many.

This book is beautiful! From the bright cover to the intricate illustrations, you can tell it was created with love and care.
It is a fun book for kids and adults. Each page has a different word, the current meaning of the word and then the origin. The illustration incorporates both meanings in fun ways. I highly recommend this book for anyone who likes to know where words come from and anyone who likes great and bright art work.
