The best food processor I have ever had!

The best food processor I have ever had!

I love my Cuisinart 13 cup food processor. It's easy to use and clean. It does everything I need from a food processor. I dice all my veggies for casseroles and salads. Carrot cake every Saturday! It is light and easy to take out of my cupboard but also heavy enough to sit on the counter while slicing and shredding etc...I would recommend to everyone who has over £200 to spend on a food processor.

Thank you for your feedback

It works well though I have not used all of the parts of which there are many. Unboxing took a while whilst I examined every part supplied. It comes with a container for some of the parts and I bought a box for the others.

Using it has been a breeze and cleaning it afterwards was quite easy. Chops and blends well.

Yes, it costs a lot but is worth every penny.

I had been considering a Magimix to replace my Kenwood but having bought a Cuisinart mini chopper/grinder, I was impressed enough to buy their food processor. My main requirements are for vegetable preparation. The slicing and grating attachments were easy to fit and didn’t leave me with loads of food unprocessed. I sliced potatoes, sweet peppers, mushrooms and onions, varying the slicing size fairly easily. Grated cheese very fast. The. Dicing kit is a separate set up process and method but worked well with onions, potatoes, carrots and courgettes - it is extremely sharp! General chopping in the large bowl is great and the mini bowl is very well sealed. I have not tried the spiraliser blades yet. Obviously there is a fair amount of washing up as with any food processor.
The only downside for me is that the lid is so snug that it feels stiff to remove, however, it is unlikely to leak for this reason. There is an effective safety locking mechanism whereby, unless all the lid parts are properly engaged, the motor will not start. It took me a few goes to get the hang of this. I considered removing one star regarding ease of use only because you can’t just throw it all together quickly but need to set up carefully and take a bit of time to learn how to use everything. The instructions provided are easy to follow though.

A family member had the smaller processor from Cuisinart and on balance that is probably the better choice unless you need the volume of the big bowls.

This one is a bit clunky to use if you want to do anything other than chop up.

On the other hand it isn't as heavy as some others and sucker feet hold it in place. It is noisy, but it works fine.

... a much loved Magimix which finally gave up the ghost after 30 years of near daily use. I read a lot of reviews and spent sometime considering whether to do a straight replacement or go for something entirely new and finally decided on the Cuisinart.

It’s a bit early for me to post a review because to be honest I haven’t yet experimented with all the bells and whistles ... but for those functions I have used I’ve found it does the job well. I don’t find it easy to use ... and the lid is quite difficult to fit and remove ... but I suspect that’s more to do with having used a different food processor for so long and needing to get familiar and comfortable with a completely new model.

It’s certainly seems a pretty impressive piece of kit. I like that I can spiralise and dice ... though haven’t done so yet. I’m more confident that it will handle bread making better than my previous model and I like the neat storage box which houses all the blades and discs safely.

I will try to remember to return to this review to add some more helpful observations around this processor and it’s various functions once I am more comfortable and familiar with it and have used it more. Meanwhile I’m optimistic that it will become a real kitchen assistant.

Returning to this review; as promised.

Some 18 months on from purchase I can now say with some authority that I bl##dy hate it, and I’m going to get a Magimix!

Excellent, this gadget and I are likely to become good friends.

In case like me, you are blind and reading this (long shot I know), the knife work ahead of the ingredients hitting the pot takes me ages.

You may find as I have that it takes longer to set the machine up, than it does to do the prep, a huge time saving even so.

The machine is easy to put together, it’s easy to tell when disks or blades are fitted correctly, the buttons are big and obvious, and when done, assuming you have one, chuck the parts in to the dish washer, minding your fingers.

I like the storage cases, everything has a home.

The base is light, easy to move around when not in use.

For me, this is a machine which can be used every day.
