| _9:05 pm_[javiergarza4] | stuff Well...Since these weren't recorded either...The Andress High School Marching Band earned a Third place at the Showcase of Pageantry on October 8, 2005.The Andress High School Marching Band earned a Division One at the UIL marching competition at the Socorro Activities Center on October 12, 2005. The band also advanced to the area competition, in Lubbock, Texas, on October 29, 2005.The Andress High School Marching Band earned a Division One at the EPISD marching competition at the Sun Bowl on October 15, 2005.At NMSU TOB, the AHS Marching Band made finals and earned a seventh place, and got the outstanding general effect award, and second place in the division for prelims.At the UIL Area contest, the band got second in prelims and then tied for first place with Del Valle High School in finals. The Andress band advanced to the State marching competition, to be held in San Antonio on November 8, 2005.At the Texas state marching competition, the Andress band did not make finals, but they got 16th place. | _4:56 pm_[javiergarza4] | memories of my first year in the Andress band First memory: well I don't know...but I think the time we did big booty...also Joe, and babyshark...Worst memories: when i kept getting pulled out all the time because "i couldn't march" and then when I got yelled at for not stopping at the exact time that he called us to attention... Then when he yelled at me like every day...then when i got yelled at almost every day during concert season...then when i messed up counting because i forgot there was a second line and got in trouble...then during the band banquet when i got nothing...and then like the meetings after the football games...and the difficulty of double tonguing at the beginning of the year...when taj killed my trumpet because i stepped on him while marching because he was way too close and i got yelled at and the trumpet was folded and i had to buy a new one...lol...best memories: when we got 1s at uil and episd...LOL and during concert season when Mr. Ludlow said to only play it if you knew it..and i was the only one who played it..that was funny...and then when i lettered and Mr. Coleman told me i didn't need the scales to letter(DARN) thanks for making me work so hard...lol and when i finally passed off the music...just being part of the band was a great memory.. OH YEAH ZIA lol. It was so fun stepping on POO! lol. and i got to learn that graeson has a buttcrack...OOO OOO and prank calling people from our room in albuquerque..well at least antonio was..lol and greasyhead...and that's all i got for now..lolfavorite Crystal memory: when matt and I bought her some coke at uil..lol (see i gave you a section too)And it was fun having a group of three during marching season...SCARIEST MEMORY: valerie lopez hitting andrew in the head with her trumpet...WOW I was sitting right behind them! Imagine if I wasn't second chair and i was last that that could have been me...lolmy most favorite one though, was the band trip...lol I don't remember who I said this to, but I told them, "you have more issues than a magazine" lol (5 Comments |Comment on this) |

In Honor of the Beth Tradition... well I've only been in the andress band for a year, so maybe these memories aren't final...so don't laugh cause I know i'm lame. first memory: when some girl was all mean to me when we were getting into that circle where we do "baby shark d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d baby shark" and "joe". She's all like, "ewww check out that loser standing in the middle of percussion she's not even percussion!" when we weren't even standing in instrumentation. i propose we try to be nice to people when they're new...cause that sucked, like bad. so bad that it was my first memory.worst memory: hmmm...I guess just being a crappy marcher? Hmmm...my worst memory was when I played somewhere over the rainbow when I was tuning and Mr. Coleman was all mean about it. i'm sure you've heard the story.favorite memory: um I really like practicing for our platoon show, and after our platoon show where the guys took off their shirts and everyone went wild. I really liked our platoon show...It was sooooooooooo fun and our section bonded. oh and that time mr. ludlow was all "you look great out on that field" that was pretty awesome.Ok EDIT! I want to put in another category if i may, it's not that awesome:a time when you felt loved: when harvey and matt bought me a coke at ummmm i think it was at the sac. and they let me hang out with them almost all of marching season. oh and one time joe asked if some thing was wrong. and...I'm sure there's others. Random Memories... Well, since I'm no longer a member of the Andress Band I thought I'd share with you all some different memories I cherish with the band. Corny, but yeah...it seems fun, so you guys put your's too!First Memory- I think the first thing I remember doing as a part of the Andress Band was going to Freshman Camp and the leaders teaching us the words and motions to "Joe." I felt so stupid and never really participated full out until probably my senior year, though. But "Joe" is awesome! :P Oh yeah, and at the end of Freshman camp me and Tasha Whitehead got "Best Freshman" award and I remember Rachel got "Most Improved." Worst Memory- I know most of you weren't there for it, but I wouldn't even say that the fact we got dead last at NMSU my Freshman year was my worst memory. Probably the worst was that Tuesday night rehearsal my Sophomore year, and all those other times when that memory was rubbed in our faces. Yeah, we got "dead last"...but that was the past, and I'd say that horrible Tuesday night rehearsal was my least favorite memory.Favorite Memory- Probably my Sophomore year when we made Finals at NMSU. That year we came a looong way, and that was probably one of my favorite years in the Andress Band.But through the good and the bad, I am sooo glad I stayed in the band all four years. Those memories are something I'll always cherish, and the friendships I made can never be replaced. In the end, those memories made everything so worth it and was the best thing I did in high school. So, I thought I'd share that with you all...yeah I know it was corny, but I felt the need! :P I miss the band so much and I barely graduated a month ago. HEY LOOK!! IT'S ANOTHER ENTRY!! :D Wow!! People post in this things soooo much! ;) j/k! Well I know the band had practice today for the first time with the new Freshman, so I thought that was worthy of an entry! How'd it go? My brother told me the band went to Cici's afterwards to meet new friends. It's sounds like next year's show is going to be awesome! Well, good luck to you guys! That's it from me for now!
