AN ANIME/MANGA FANDOM CHARACTER TOURNAMENT
TOURNAMENT THREE WILL BEGIN IN OCTOBER! PLEASE GO HERE TO VOTE IN THE ELIMINATION ROUND.
AN ANIME/MANGA FANDOM CHARACTER TOURNAMENT based on 
f_march_madness (format used with permission!).
This is a single elimination, competitive animanga fandom wide tournament to determine THE BEST AND THE BRIGHTEST OF ANIME AND MANGA FANDOM.
-Ninety-six fandoms will be included. Don't see your favorite fandom on the list? I'm sorry. I worked hard to compile a list, with help from other fans, that I thought covered most of the 'big' bases of anime/manga fandom. I have favorites that aren't on here as well, but that's that. I can't include everything. Please do not complain about this or go on about why your favorite series isn't here. Additionally, video games, light novels, visual novels etc. are not going to be included unless they also have an anime or manga adaptation.
-CHARACTER BASHING IS NO. Get tough, get snarky, get .gif-y, get your squee on, trade votes, I don't care. But do not outright bash other characters. IT'S NOT FUN.
-PLEASE DON'T POST NSFW MATERIAL. You can spam the shit out of these posts to campaign for your favorites, and in fact I encourage it. But don't post porn. We'll certainly have some young people voting, as well as people at work. It is the courteous thing to do.
-FANART SHOULD BE CREDITED. It's okay to campaign with fanart, but please credit the original artist.
-YOU MUST VOTE WITH A LIVEJOURNAL ACCOUNT. Open ID accounts, dreamwidth accounts, etc. are not allowed. I'm sorry to have to do this, but the reason is simple- it's impossible for me to try and weed out duplicate votes if I allow them. Your livejournal account must have been created BEFORE the preliminary voting goes up, so if you want to participate and don't have an lj, get to making one right now!

animetournament will start out with a whopping NINETY-SIX fandoms. These will be split amongst two prelim voting posts. One character from each fandom will win their poll, and then advance to the next bracket, where they will face a character from another fandom.
Preliminaries: 96 fandoms
First Round: 96 characters
Second Round: 48 characters
Third Round: 24 characters
Semi-finals: 12 characters
Super Six: 6 characters
Final Three: 3 characters
The winner of the final three becomes the CHAMPION!
