Although FD has a tendency to involve craniofacial bones in a unilateral fashion, the involvement was bilateral and extensive in this case. An additional feature was the presence of a frontal sinus mucocele, presumably due to the involvement of the sinus recess by the dysplastic process. This complication of the craniofacial FD has been reported very infrequently in the literature.

Computerized tomography (CT)-guided percutaneous cordotomy using a newly designed needle electrode system has the advantages of safe, selective, and controlled lesioning under direct visualization in the lateral spinothalamic tract. Given its low complication rate, bilateral selective cordotomy performed with CT guidance using this new needle electrode system may prove to be the treatment of choice for cancer patients with bilateral pain of the lower trunk and extremities. The present series included five cancer patients suffering from intractable pain bilaterally in the lower trunk and extremities. All were treated with CT-guided bilateral selective cordotomy: the results demonstrate that this technique may be used effectively and safely.

Since pseudoaneurysms may expand a splenic hematoma and cause delayed splenic rupture, early diagnosis and treatment are crucial. In this report, we describe the case of a 12-year-old boy with a delayed splenic rupture caused by a splenic hematoma containing 2 pseudoaneurysms. Abdominal sonography showed free intraperitoneal fluid and a mildly enlarged spleen with a large heterogeneous area occupying the upper half of the organ. Two anechoic lesions (15 and 4 mm) were seen inside the hematoma near the splenic hilum. Color Doppler sonography demonstrated turbulent arterial flow within the lesions, suggesting pseudoaneurysms. On CT, the lesions enhanced simultaneously with the splenic artery in the arterial phase of contrast enhancement. CT also showed an intrasplenic arterial branch leading to the larger of the 2 pseudoaneurysms.

Though their ultrasonographic features have been well described, magnetic resonance angiographic appearance of these lesions has not been reported in the radiology literature. We describe gadolinium-enhanced MR angiographic findings in two patients with internal jugular vein phlebectasia and one patient with anterior jugular vein aneurysm. The jugular venous system and its abnormalities were successfully depicted in the coronal plane, much like the images of coronal angiography.

Only seven cases have been reported in the literature. Color Doppler ultrasonographic findings of this rare entity have not been described. We report a case of focal mass in a myeloid metaplastic patient diagnosed as focal extramedullary hematopoiesis. Color Doppler findings of this rare condition are described and compared with computed tomography features.

We report a unique case where a psoas abscess was secondary to retroperitoneal tuberculous lymphadenopathy in a 13-year-old boy who had no demonstrable findings of spinal tuberculosis. Computed tomography showed an obvious communication between the necrotic and calcified retroperitoneal lymph node and the psoas abscess. To the best of our knowledge, fistulization of tuberculous lymph nodes into the psoas sheath has not been reported in the English-language literature.

MR imaging showed a mass lesion located in the corpus callosum. Diagnosis was made by stereotactic biopsy. The patient was treated with radiotherapy. Early control MR imaging showed a decrease in tumor size but after 12 months an increase in tumor size was detected.

The advantages of CT guidance in percutaneous cordotomy are the measurement of spinal cord diameters at the lesion site for each individual patient, direct visualization of target electrode relations, demonstration of spinal cord displacement during the procedure and localization of the electrode system in a specific part of the spinothalamic tract. Local destruction of the spinothalamic tract leads to selective cordotomy. Since 1987, CT-Guided Cordotomy has been applied to 54 cases of intractable cancer pain. In 33 of the 54 cases, the cordotomy was selective enough to be successful with a local denervation of the area where the pain was dominant. Except for one temporary hemiparesis and one temporary ataxia, no complications or side effects were observed.

The classical imaging technique is the x-ray method which visualizes the target electrode relation indirectly. The method of CT-guided trigeminal tractotomy demonstrates the target electrode relation directly.
