This study aimed to investigate the relationship between emotional well-being and academic performance in nursing students in Turkey MATERIALS and METHODS: This study was of a longitudinal, descriptive design on nursing students in Turkey. The participants were a cohort of 138 student nurses who had commenced their training in the Faculty of Health Sciences at Ankara University. RESULTS: It was found that average EI scores decreased over the 4-year study program and average CD scores increased throughout the nursing education. It was also observed that there was a relationship between EI and CD; and also there was a relationship between EI and academic grades. These findings revealed areas for improvement in the current nursing education in order for the student nurses to become more healthy and effective nurses. CONCLUSION: Nursing education programs should be reviewed and new strategies should be planned for the well-being of the students. For beneficial patient outcomes, the EI and the CD of the students should be determined and improved and outcomes of nursing education should be measured.

For this reason, it is important and necessary to identify students’ feelings, opinions and behaviors regarding care plans. This study aims to evaluate students’ opinions about working with a care plan to develop a realistic practice and achievable goals in clinical training of mental health nursing education. Design/methodology/approach A total of 90 senior nursing students were enrolled in this study, and data were collected from 63 students who received informed consent. In the data collection, a structured “Learning-Teaching Process Assessment Form” which consists of two parts created by the researchers in accordance with the qualitative research model was applied at the end of training period. The data were analyzed manually by researchers with “thematic analysis” method. Findings The analys...

The major symptom of NMS are hyperthermia, muscular rigidity, extrapyramidal symptoms and autonomic dysfunction. Although NMS is not frequent, it is a life-threatening sitvation in which early detection and treatment are important. Nurses have many responsibilities in early detection, and caring of patients who suffer from NMS and .preventing complications and helping.patients and families get back to their previous level of functioning.

That is why PS skills underlie all nursing practice, teamwork, and health care management, and are a main topic in undergraduate nursing education. Thus, there is a need to develop effective methods to teach problem-solving skills. The present study, as a first study in Turkey, may provide valuable insight for nurse academicians employed at üniversities. Purpose of the Study: This study aims to determine the effect of problemsolving training, through a management course, on nursing students' perceived problem-solving skills and self-efficacy beliefs. Method: Study data, based on pretest-posttest application and a semiexperimental design, were collected using a socio-demographic data form, Problem-Solving Inventory, and Self-Efficacy Scale. Data were analyzed with the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 15.0 using definitive statistical analysis, the Wilcoxon test, and the Spearman correlation test for inter-scale relations. Findings: After training, the Problem-Solving Inventory (PSI) and Self-Efficacy Scale scores showed a significant difference (p<0.05). Regarding PSI subdimensions, it was determined that students receiving training perceived themselves as more competent in the Reflective Approach, the Evaluative Quick Approach, and the Planned Approach (p<0.05), but there was no difference in the Quick Approach, Abstention Approach, And Self-Reliable Approach. A positive, medium-level but statistically insignificant relation between perceived problem-solving and self-efficacy has been found. 1 Gulsum Ancel Conclusions and Recommendations: This study shows that training for problem-solving through a structured management course improves confidence in problem-solving skills and self-efficacy beliefs. In light of this, nursing students should be trained in more creative ways than just traditional methods, and PS strategies related to management should be integrated into the nursing process. In this regard, academicians should be aware of the importance of the teaching method used and the content of the course. It is also considered that examining multidimensionally to what extent the nursing process improves PS skills would be useful. Further study is needed to clarify the relation between training programs and perceived problem-solving in different samples.

Methods: 432 students participated to the study and data were collected by using questionnaire for sociodemographic characteristics, Online Cognition Scale and Emotional Intelligence Scale. Descriptive statistics, t-test, Pearson Correlation Analysis and Stepwise Hierarchical Regression Analysis were employed to evaluate the data. Results: Results indicated that problematic internet use rate is 15.9%, there is negative correlation between Online Cognition Scale and Emotional Intelligence Scale, and gender (being male), departments of students, using internet for social interaction and emotional intelligence are predictors of problematic internet use. Conclusion: Students are thought to be a risk group for problematic internet use, further studies are needed and precautions should be improved.
