whisperdryad **12:21 pm - [MOD POST] Please Read**Dear friends, I, as the maintainer of the community, have to inform you that, due to the recent legal problems, I've decided to stop using LJ as a platform for my community. From now on, all new materials should be posted to the new community I've recently created, as for old entries, you will be able to find them there.

twostepsfwd **12:17 am - New community for Gluten-Free Low-Carb / Low-Glycemic eaters**Posting this here since I eat an anti-inflammatory diet and will be posting anti-inflam recipes as much as possible in this new community. If you are gluten-free and you watch your sugar intake, try to eat only whole grains and/or are interested in eating low on the glycemic index... Come join us in this new community:gflowcarbI'm hoping this will be a helpful resource for exchanging recipes that aren't full of all the usual highly-processed and nutritionally empty ingredients that tend to be pervasive in gluten-free cooking, and to provide support and information for people who are gluten-free and doing South Beach Diet, the low glycemic index diet, anti-inflammatory diet, and other approaches to healthy gluten-free eating. This may also be helpful to diabetics and folks with PCOS who are trying to eat a blood-sugar stabilizing diet. You don't have to be interested in weight loss to join, just in eating healthier and avoiding or reducing your consumption of processed, sugary foods.

nobodyeverybody **01:11 pm - Fibro and exercise**Anyone have any tips on how to exercise despite feeling in pain and tired? I've been using principles from the Perricone anti-inflammation diet, which has helped a lot.... but I want to add more exercise into my life. On top of having fibro, I also have inflammation of the fasciitis in the feet which prevent me from running or walking for long periods. (Doc has recommended sitting exercises as a result). I've gained so much weight in the past year and have lost significant muscle. Perricone allowed me to lose 15 since last month... but I miss exercising! Any tips?X-Posted

sbilokonsky **05:52 pm - GOOD NEWS AND BAD NEWS**the GOOD is that i DO NOT have lupus!!!! that is so a weight off my shoulders...BAD NEWS: i have osteoporosis and a slightly large spleen.i was wondering why when i showed up for my appointment, i had some scan done and besides my sonogram. it was a bone scan. i am way below what i should be on the scale. he DX me with the osteoporosis, wants me to start a daily intake of at least 100 grams of cheese, plus calicum and he put me on vigantoletten 1000 i.e. my spleen is slightly large, but currently nothing to worry about. it is actually longer than normal. he recommends me staying on my current meds for FIBRO, but just added the new dx of osteoporosis. so no autoimmune disorders going on- yeah for me....but tons of bone issues...sucks for me. i did find out the my left hip is pretty bad. which i think explains alot. so all my other problems are related to my FIBRO- NOT autoimmune. this makes me happy. i know it sounds strange but when you have a mother that suffers from 2 autoimmune disorders...it is music to the ears.Current Mood: gratefulgrateful

deenojalapeno **09:26 am - puffy eyed...**Since last week, my eyes were getting bothered by... pollen perhaps? Environmental contaminants? Food?I happened to have my Holistic Practitioner appointment on Tuesday, Vega testing also indicated dust and dustmites were a particular bother right now. Candida is just starting up too. Vega test says avoid beans & legumes for now. (Darn! I like my beaners!) No dairy, wheat, coffee, alcohol, or chocolate either. No sugar. (I like to think I've followed this diet, but reality is I 'cheat' probably daily on the sugar and dairy... Mussst s-t-o-P) Oh well, that stills leaves lots of fruit and veg and rice stuff to eat...I got some dirt in my eye on tuesday evening, planting bulbs, and I suspect there was fertilizer or something in it, my eye was nearly swollen shut when I woke in the morning. The other was just red and puffy. :(Things I am taking to quell the histamine onslaught: Quercetin bioflavinoids, 'Breathe Easy' Tea, by Traditional Medicinals,Acidophilus & Bifidus capsules, Zyflamend (a herbal antiinflammatory combo).I am going to go purchase some Nettle tea. Has anyone tried this out? My practitioner says you have to drink it daily, it takes about 3 weeks before it starts working. I Vega tested well for the sample she had, so that's good...we'll see what happens.I think I have to make my dog stay outside for awhile?Put j-clothes over the dust registers, change the air filter...drink tea...tea...tea...Current Mood: okayokay

sbilokonsky **11:58 am - questioning doctors in germany- warning foul language ahead**dr. feil is the only doctor i have ever trusted here in germany on the german side of things...today seeing the quack i saw today, knowing that what test he was going to run were going to be on the "normal side of the house" told me it was in my head and thought i needed to see a psych. WTF?? so basically i pointed out to him--UH think i have problems because i deal with pain..NO SHIT. but you know what the problem is...it is in BLACK AND WHITE on a MRI and in a report---instead of FIXING SAID FUCKING PROBLEM...LETS 'TALK' ABOUT IT---WTF--HOLY FUCKING MOTHER OF GOD-WTF???so said doctor got a piece of my mind--bitch petrol was out today, and i was HEAD BITCH. seriously i think the reason why patients here in germany have to go see a shrink is because they dont question the doctors. 'uhhhh okay, uuuuhhh what's up doc' i mean i told him, you see the problem but instead of fixing it NOW- let's make it what until it is worse and then....will fix it. HELLO I DONT WANT SPINAL FUSION IN THE NEAR FUTURE. fix it while it can still be fixed. why wait until the problem gets to a point where i am more disabled than i am. oh and my bobble head, do you think--which i made a comment to him about--that IT COULD BE MY MUSCLES FREAKING OUT--because i am IN PAIN????UMM NO?? MAYBE?? GET A CLUE!! oh yeah, i forgot...it is all in my head...waaa poor little fucking me...go fuck yourself doc.oh i did make the comment about how i was this nice rescue diver..firefighter at one time...you know i can deal with FM pain, but this pain that i am currently having which is FAR DIFFERENT than the FM- and yes, doc i do know the DIFFERENCE in the pain...do you think i enjoy taking XYZ MEDS everyday. do you think i LOVE THE CHEMICALS running thru my vens...oh yeah baby...fuck me pleaseYEAH, i am a pissy little bitch today, but in good news i am getting out of germany for a day tomorrow. that makes me happy for the moment.
