I am concerned about the possibility of parole for the prisoner Mark David Chapman, who was imprisoned in 1980 for the murder of John Lennon. I feel that this man should be denied parole. Mr. Lennon had never committed any infraction against Chapman. In fact, on the day of his murder, Mr. Lennon gave Chapman an autograph. If Chapman could kill a man he did not even know, what else is he capable of, let loose on the street? Not only this, but he has continued to "cash in" on his fame by way of frequent press interviews, making it clear that he is more interested in maintaining his notoriety than searching for redemption through hard work. In the aforementioned interviews, the man seems to regard his merciless slaying of Mr. Lennon with a childish "I won't do it again" attitude as opposed to a true sense of remorse. Mr. Lennon was a great asset to New York City. He frequently donated to charities, such as when he donated the finances needed for the New York Police Department to acquire bulletproof vests. It has been written that he gave one tenth of his income each year to a charity for spastic children. He constantly spoke out for peace and understanding. Now, due to this bloodthirsty act of violence, we as a world have lost a visionary of peace. If you agree with me that this man should in no way, shape, or form be paroled this October, please sign my petition at http://www.petitiononline.com/rem128. This petition gained acclaim in the newspapers when it was first started two years ago (the last time Chapman went up for parole), and hopefully we will be able to have that success again and show that no one wants this man back on the streets. Thank you very much.

Tom Clancy | [06 Jan 2006|01:05am] |

...Yes, it's horrifically embarrasing, but is Tom Clancy a Republican? I really want to know...I was so freaking bored during this break that I actually picked up one of his books (IDK how I got it) and was wondering if anyone knew.

Once again the liberals shoot themselves in the foot. They tried to smear our troops and caused riots, deaths, and more anti-American sentiment. And it just might be one big lie.

Nice Points | [08 Mar 2005|10:54am] |

Did anyone else see Pres. Bush's speech today on Iran? I thought he made some good points, and the interviewee afterward (Richard something, Former someone), made a good reference to Bush's "14 Points," based on Bush's reference to Wilson's. Congratulations, it was a good speech.

Conservative Rant | [07 Mar 2005|10:35pm] |

Women these days seem to have a thing for exploiting their sexuality, yet they disguise it as embracing their bodies. Women will empower themselves by expressing that they, too, are sexual beings, but at the same time, sound cheap and desperate. What has the new generation of women become? Are girls' role-models those women who are admired for their sexual prowess? Unfortunately, the answer is pointing closer to "yes" than your grandmother would like to believe. Because men applaud women who are overtly sexual (for example, discussing the desire a man has for her nipples on prime-time TV), the encouragement only perpetuates the problem. To speak out against women who "embrace" their body is to therefore be called a prude or even jealous. Those who are opposed to this behavior get slapped with anti-progressive speeches and violent backlash. I will state that I am not jealous of any woman who participates in self-exploition. I am not envious of a woman who can flaunt her body and ask for sex willingly. I am proud of who I am, and I am strong enough to realize that my looks will only get me so far - the rest I am obliged to make for myself.Interestingly enough, it is deemed acceptable for a woman to be openly sexual and still maintain a decent reputation. Often, she is applauded for her bold and daring measures, and respected for "speaking out" against society's standards. On the other hand, if a woman chooses to abstain from intercourse or any sexual counter (possibly because the partner is a random man), she is labelled as being undesirable. At the same time, men want a reliable, "clean" woman. Such a conundrum!Where, then, can a line be drawn between "prude" and "slut"? Apparently, the division marker is so strong that almost any woman opposed to "free sex" is deemed uptight and "in need of a good lay." Why is sex becoming the remedy for what ails a woman with strong morals? Why is it that women with Conservative values are cast aside? We are most definitely in a progressive society. It is amazing how many wonderful women paved the path for equality between the sexes. Women can participate much more freely in almost any event today than in our country's past. The problem is that women tend to exploit their sexuality and gain respect, because these standards are what is being upheld in popular culture. Where are the Phyllis Schlaflys, and the other women who are intelligent and well-versed? Where are the women who are intellectuals by nature? They're probably buried behind a book in a library, wearing no make-up and frumpy clothes (according to mass media). It's time to end that. Women should be respected for how well they can stand up for themselves and any cause in which they place their faith and trust. Men should admire women for being astoundingly attractive AND thoughtful; while I cannot say that "looks aren't everything," society would do a much better job at raising our children by embracing their less obvious qualities. As I always say: Looks are great, but ya gotta have staying power.-S. Never Said Better... | [06 Mar 2005|03:30pm] |

[ **mood** | hahaha ] "Democrats tried working out their frustrations on blacks for a while, but someone — I can't remember who, but it probably wasn't Sen. Robert Byrd — must have finally told them it really wasn't helping to keep disparaging every single black person in a position of authority in this Republican administration. "So now liberals are lashing out at the gays. Two weeks ago, The New York Times turned over half of its op-ed page to outing gays with some connection to Republicans. There is no principled or intellectual basis for these outings. Conservatives don't want gays to die; we just don't want to transform the Pentagon into the Office of Gay Studies. "By contrast, liberals say: "We love gay people! Gay people are awesome! Being gay is awesome! Gay marriage is awesome! Gay cartoon characters are awesome! And if you don't agree with us, we'll punish you by telling everyone that you're gay!"---Ann Coulter---

"Today we salute you Mr. John Kerry voter. While others were at the polls making informed decisions about their candidates, you are relying on Michael Moore for political advice. Yes. No. Maybe. The only thing we know for sure about Kerry is his three Purple Hearts. [say it again now] Sure George W. isn't the most articulate public speaker, but he's not scared of a football. So crack open an ice cold Bud Light, democratic douschebag, because the republicans have Four More Years."

[ mood** | giggly ] x-postedTop 7 John Kerry Excuses for Losing the Election1.** Voters were in a fever-induced haze because they couldn't get their flu shots.2. Floridians confused by shockingly unconfusing ballots. 3. The endorsement from Osama Bin Laden didn't exactly help. 4. "Dude -- it's the Curse of the Bambino!" 5. Should've campaigned more in New Mexico, less in regular Mexico. 6. Voters seem to really like a weak economy and a badly run war. 7. I'm doing a paper for my research class. I chose to do abortion, and I need a TON of facts on it. Does anyone have any websites where I could find detailed information about Bush/Kerrys thoughts on it. I mean obviously Bush is pro-life (YAY!) and Kerry isnt, but regarding each issue? Thanks so much!!!!

Kerry says, "Of course then, I could throw one-hundred $1.00 bills out the window and make a hundred people very happy."
