Good Morning.

I’d like to welcome the United States Postmaster General, Louis DeJoy (De-Joy). I appreciate your participation in today’s hearing to give members of the subcommittee the opportunity to discuss election readiness and general oversight of the United States Postal Service.

I will be brief, because I know my colleagues and I are eager to engage with you.


Washington, D.C. – U.S. Representatives Tom Cole (R-OK), Chairman of the House Appropriations Committee, Ken Calvert (R-CA), Chairman of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Defense, Mario Diaz-Balart (R-FL), Chairman of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs, Mike Rogers (R-AL), Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, Michael McCaul (R-TX), Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, and Mike Turner (R-OH), Chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee, on Intelligence released a statement demanding the Biden-Harris Administration release an unclassified version of the Ukraine strategy as required by law.

I rise today in support of H.R. 9747, the Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act of 2025.

In a matter of days, funding for Fiscal Year 2024 will run out, and it is Congress’s responsibility to ensure that the government remains open and serving the American people. We are here to avert harmful disruptions to our national security and the vital programs our constituents rely on.


Washington, D.C. – Today, House Appropriations Committee Chairman Tom Cole (R-OK) testified before the Rules Committee during consideration of H.R. 9747, the Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act, 2025, highlighting the need to keep the government open and serving the American people.
