♥♥♥ HELLO GYPSIES! ♥♥♥
For one of my college classes, we're making a literary journal!! and I am uber excited because this is basically one of my major career goals. It's sponsored by the University of Mary Washington but in order for it to be successful we need submissions!!
I know all of you gypsies are artistic, wonderfully creative people. Whatever your art, whatever your aesthetic--we want it! Anything!
Poetry? Fiction? Non-fiction? Flash prose? Essays? Photography? Stuio art? Digital art? Spoken word? Music? Instrumental? Short films? Interpretive dance?
We literally want it ALL! and I know you gypsies have far spread wide varieties of talents. You have until MARCH 20TH, so you still have a ton of time!
We'd be sooo happy and sooo honored to feature your work!
The earlier you submit, the better chance you have--but even if you're a day late, we're nice people :]

Hello, my name's Mandy and I'm new. I'm a senior english major at UnivMaryWash. I love to write; primarily poetry but also short stories. I'm twenty-one and am about to graduate. I love drinking excessive amounts of strong black tea, sitting by rivers, musing, and spending time with those whom I love.
FIRST, here is one of my more recent poems ...
"Altamont"
They were lined up like they were waiting for pergatory or something, like he's going to deliver them something other than a coupon for condoms.
They moved in waves like masses; schools of vague-faced fish. Bodies pushed into another like the air-choked throats of flailing thrashing netted fish.
Outside the sealed gates are cheeks pushed flat against glass. and I sit oppressed with a voice worth nothing; sitting impressed, mouth agape in a stupor at the scripts these mechanical lips flaunt.
and I wonder if the frantic mob will trip up enough to be the next Altamont.
but also, I'd like to invite all of you to submit to my university sponsored literary journal! It's an online journal so it will be viewable to all of you--who I hope will contribute so you can see your own work published online!
