In addition to affecting the functioning of the system, crises also affect the values on which the system is built. If necessary, precautions are not taken, some crises may create situations that threaten the vital integrity of the political system. The European Union has faced many crises and difficulties since its establishment, but it has emerged from all these processes by being renewed with change. The integration process, which progressed in parallel with the periodic changes in the international system such as the Oil Crisis, the end of the Cold War, the reunification of Germany, the 2008 economic crisis, and the Brexit process, started with economic integration and became politicized on the way to becoming a federated state. It has evolved into a structure and reached its present form.
