Into the Woods - Wood elves and lovers' Journal (original) (raw)

Um I don't ONLY play elves, I like to roleplay all sorts of different things. My current character in a dnd campaign I'm playing is a wood elf (in the forgotten realms campaign setting) named Illel Sorroswol. I got a friend to do an um commission of her who's an artist in animation at Sheridan. I'll post some links.
Anyways, my previous character was a doppelganger. heheh
I find that I feel more connected to the whole 'elf' idea... the idea of harmony with living things and the forest, being magical, mysterious and long lived, somewhat playful perhaps, yet wise... and perhaps being more graceful or dextrous (I'm a clutz, but I still think that is kind of cool). I'm also vegetarian and into the environment, not to say that elves necessarily are, but it sort of fits the stereotype a little. I did an essay called elves vs dwarves, comparing and contrasting them lol if people are interested I could post it or something... I like guerilla fighting style too, ie fight with intelligence against vastly more physically powerful foes etc ... So my character Illel exemplifies this... in dnd 3.5 ... she's an archer type ranger, as opposed to two-weapon fighter, and something of a sniper I guess... although she can fight in melee combat too.

Here's a link to an online character sheet/ info about her:

I might write a story about the whole group of characters and stuff in that campaign... or something.
ps if you want her (Bonnie Tang, the artist who did my character pic) to do commissions, I sort of got a discount because I said I wouldn't mind if she sold prints of the picture to other people and stuff. Hehe
A previous character I had in the living city campaign for the RPGA, started before 3rd ed actually (2nd ed) was named Kiserdar Quagal, a fighter-rogue type, more of an urban guy, also somewhat lecherous and rude, who grew up in silverymoon in somewhat poor conditions, and left (so my background goes...) on bad terms, running from the law... elves are long lived, tho... anyways, he was a two-weapon fighter with the blooded feat, somewhat streetwise /cocky /funny (unlike me lol) and stuff... I really enjoyed that character concept, and many other characters since followed the basic form, but rarely with as compelling a personality I guess... (to me, anyways) He was the kind of guy who would be sort of tough and uncaring on the outside, but actually cares deeply sometimes, and sort of admires paladins and the like who can stand up for what they believe in, when he's sort of given up, given is lifestyle and growing, on trying to seem altruistic... get's you in too much trouble ;) everybody wants you to save them, then :P Maybe a little 'Han Solo' esq (yeah, ok, so I'm a bit of a starwars freak, too) ...
There was a female paladin of the (female god of strategy) the Red Knight that a friend played in the same campaign, who he sort of 'liked' ... but someone like him would be like, very forward on the outside maybe, like sexual jokes and hitting on, but wouldn't really say how he felt probably. Anyways, probably going on a bit long with this. I've had lots of other characters, elf and otherwise, but not necessarily very fleshed out. I don't play spell casters that much, kind of complicated to play, gotta know the spells and keep track of more stuff usually, but I did have an idea for a Pixie Warlock/Spellthief named Sylphiel ... on the sort of faery/elfin theme... would have a hat of disguise to appear like a regular person probably... and be somewhat greedy for magic items and the like probably... the type who is prone to lying and deceit in a slightly childlike, playful kind of way, to get what she wants, even though she might grudgingly share things when she has to/ get's caught.
Lol I'm still up in the air on which is cuter, 'cat-girls' or elf-chicks eheheh
Oh yeah, I like anime too. Record of Lodoss War has a cute elf chick in it... and 'Those who hunt elves' has a lot too, I think... :)
