Hiding communities you are in | [May. 22nd, 2007|09:54 pm]Asperger Furs |

For those of you who don't want the world to know you've joined certain communities, (like this one) there's a few step's you can take to hide it from those who arn't part of the community (or looking at the communitie's profile)First of all, edit your journal's profile, scroll all the way down, and deselect the "mutual friends" and "friend of" boxes. and save the settings (unfortunately you have to hide everyone in those catagories to do it) Then go in and manage your friends, and remove the check in all the communities you don't want others to see. This will take it off the "friends of" list, and you'll still be a member of that community! (only way you won't be a part of a community is if you either leave the community or someone removes you from the community).Unchecking the community in your "Friends" will also prevent messages posted to those communities from showing up when someone clicks on the "friends" link!Once those 2 steps are done, someone won't see those communities appear in your profile unless they use one of a few external LJ clients. (i'm not sure which ones though) | |
