An ab initio computational study of the properties of 10 dihydrogen-bonded complexes of H nMH (M ... more An ab initio computational study of the properties of 10 dihydrogen-bonded complexes of H nMH (M = Be, Al, Ga, Si, Ge) with the rare gas derivatives HArF and HKrF has been carried out at the MP2(full)/6-311++G(2d,2p) level of theory. Red shifts of H-Rg and Rg-F along with blue shifts of M-H vibrational stretching frequency were predicted. Variations of the 1H chemical shielding of the HRgF molecules versus the HctdotH distance of the complexes were also studied.
This paper details the results of a face verification competition [2] held in conjunction with th... more This paper details the results of a face verification competition [2] held in conjunction with the First International Conference on Biometric Authentication. The contest was held on the publically available BANCA database [1] according to a defined protocol [6]. Six different verification algorithms from 4 academic and commercial institutions submitted results. Also, a standard set of face recognition software from the internet [3] was used to provide a baseline performance measure.

The proposed method addresses the problem in a Bayesian framework. We assume a Gamma distribution for the spectra and the mixing coefficients. This prior distribution enforces the non-negativity.
