Asylum Convention for Supernatural Fans (original) (raw)
10 February 2011 @ 11:22 pm
I am posting this here because I am incredibly angry right now. Everyone here knows how much time and effort I put into helping Rogue during the time I volunteered for them. Well I thought you should know that I have been completely barred from all their conventions now as well as banned on the Rogue forum. And Wayne didn't even have the guts to tell me himself, he got his lacky to do it for him. Coward!
Why? Because I had the cheek to complain. I had bought one of the Diamond upgrades for A6, that is £560 on top of the £90 for the ticket, a total of £650. When they said there were only going to be 4 guests I complained, because the cost of buying everything separately came to nearly £100 less than the cost of the upgrade. Then they announced Brock, ok I wasn't bothered about him, but at least it was better.
Then tonight they announced Jared as a bonus guest. Myself and someone else with a Diamond package checked our upgrade confirmations. They quite clearly say that a photoshoot with each attending guest is included, there is absolutely NO mention of bonus guests being excluded, yet when we questioned it, they insisted that Jared was not included. I said that I was going to fight for it, because they can't just change their minds when it suits them, the confirmation emails are basically a contract as to what they would provide for the money. But oh no, apparently I'm not allowed an opinion and not allowed to complain. Instead I just got banned.
To those who are going to A6, A7 or Insurgence, I hope you have a great time, but just know that the people who run these events are complete bastards who dont care about the attendees one single bit, all they are doing is trying to suck you dry of as much money as they can get away with.
As our previous post stated - the community is now closed.
There will be no further posts and you will not be able to comment on any existing ones.
However, we are leaving the page on here for you and by using the tabs on the left hand side - you can get information on previous events and upcoming events which is up to date as at Sunday 18 July 2010.
Again - Thanks for your support and I know you'll agree with me when I say that Janine will always be our Rogue Angel :)
Any queries - please email:-

You will also find them on Facebook under Rogue Events and on Twitter
Hi everyone
Janine and I and Teresa have both thought long and hard about this and we've come to the conclusion that we can no longer keep the community running. We will not close it completely, but as of Sunday 18 July 2010, there will be no new posts and you will no longer be able to make comments. You will, of course, be able to access the community to see any information that has been previously posted.
We're really sorry, but this has never been an official community, therefore, we're kind of at the mercy of what little information we can glean from the guys and, of late, this has been practically non-existent.
We know that Wayne is extremely busy at the moment and that Paul does not work full time, if at all, for Rogue any more - he just helps out at events, so I'm afraid we can't tell you anything because we simply don't know.
We know most of you have Facebook and Twitter and they do seem to update them spasmodically. There is also the Rogue Events website and forum where you can ask questions and obtain any information they may post there.
Again, we appreciate your support and I know some of you will find this a blow, but we're sure you can understand the reasoning behind our decision.
Janine has been the Rogue Angel for a very long time and I know you'll miss her - her help and support has been invaluable to you all and I know she appreciates each and every one of you.

I hope it is ok to post this question here!
I had to wait for my finances to be sorted before I could book a ticket and to my horror, when I finally worked things out it seems they are out of stock! *screams!*
Does anyone know if more tickets will become available? Or if the tickets of people who can no longer attend will be offered for others to buy [and if you need to go on a waiting list or something?] I have never been to a Con before so am not sure about how things work!
Thanks guys!
To my horror I went to order a photo op with Misha for Asylum 5 and it said it was sold out. Is this really the case, will there be any other opporuntity to buy at the event itself?
Paul posted this on the forum and facebook:
We have now listed various additional packages you can add to your basic ticket. Overall you save money if buying a package rather than individually at the event. There is a one upgrade package, one autograph package and we have put the meet and greets on sale.
We will also be selling single reserved seating in the future.
Please click the link below to be taken to the tickets page where you can find the packages for sale. Also we have added a Group Photo Shoot in the Asylum 5 Photo Studio store.
Please note, the cost of the package is ON TOP of the price of the convention ticket, on facebook there seems to have been some confusion about this. I think it's slightly misleading of them to have called it an upgrade, it's more of an add-on to your package and will save you money if you'd bought all the things included separately.
Heyaaa fans! :D
Good news! We may have a prospect guest....
GOOO, INVITE HIM, INVITE HIM IMMEDIATELY! :DDD I got the chance to meet him once and he's an awesome guy! So, GOOOO AHEAD and write Paul & Wayne that we want Richard at the Asylum in Germany!! :D

We are looking at returning to the Dorint Hotel for 2011. With a few tweaks we believe this will once again provide a fantastic venue for the Asylum Convention. However we would like to get feedback on what you liked and disliked about the venue. Specifically what the hotel provided in ways of food, accommodation etc etc. If you didn't stay at the hotel but somewhere else we would like to know why and what would persuade you to stay at the Dorint. Feedback is by email. Please click here to email us your feedback.
My friend and I are attending A5 and we both want individual shots with Misha, but also would like one together with him. Do we both need to buy two photo ops each to do this ie do we both need to produce tickets for a photo in the joint picture?
This is my first time attending an RE event and so I'm unsure of what the protocol is.
Just to let you know that Mark Sheppard photo op tickets for A5 are now on sale from http://www.rogueevent.co.uk/store/photostudio-asylum5.html along with those of all the other guests so far announced.
