They are among the pioneers for premium NA wines and the first ever in the world to dealcoholize a wine of 98 pts. In 2021 during Katja´s pregnancy and delving deeper into non-alcoholic wines they realized there were no options out that could satisfy their wine palate, nor any stunning pairing partners for great food. So, they wondered, "Can it be done differently?" With their belief and approach that excellent non-alcoholic wines can only stem from excellent alcoholic wines, they embarked on their first dealcoholization test. For that they selected their best red wine, "In Signo Leonis," that was recently awarded 98 Falstaff points and ventured into uncharted territory pushing the boundaries of innovation. To preserve the authentic noble aromas of the wine, Patrick and Katja use vacuum distillation and a patented aroma recovery method. The result? A product that is now etched into non-alcoholic wine history and goes straight to the wine lovers´ hearts.Currently ZERONIMO has a NA red wine ZERONIMO Leonis Blend 2021 and a NA sparkling wine ZERONIMO Sparkling Select on the market. Happy 1st Birthday ZERONIMOExactly one year ago our first non-alcoholic baby Zeronimo Leonis Blend was born - a non-alcoholic premium red - the first ever of its kind coming from an Austrian winery 🇦🇹. To be honest: it was a special moment and a big step for us being the first winery in Austria launching a premium non-alcoholic red wine like this🍷🍷. We were fully committed to it - with all our heart ❤️. And no matter what would come - it just seemed to us to be an important and necessary step towards offering a world where everyone can enjoy great food with wine and have a good wine time together no matter with or without alcohol. Because what it all comes down to is inclusivity and having choices. What followed after the launch of Zeronimo Leonis Blend can simply not be described with words. And what would lay ahead of us and what Zeronimo triggered and moved, the high media attention and interest, how quickly it would grow that we would produce three vintages in one year, have four wines in the portfolio or that an NA pioneer like Joshua James would fall in love with Zeronimo and bring it to the US🇺🇲 we didn´t even dare to dream. Also that Zeronimo will be available in whole Europe as well as in Austrian premium supermarket BillaPlus of BILLA AG before its first birthday was more then we ever expected. It was the most exciting and fastest growing year in the history of our winery Heribert Bayer so far. A year we will never forget and we appreciate so much of everyone that joined, supported and followed us. What we can say so far: If anyone thinks that alcohol-free means things are calmer and gentler, you're 100% wrong 😝lol. Thanks to you who have accompanied us in this first year, who enjoy and appreciate our Zeronimo wines and who have been part of this incredible and unique story ever since. Especially here on LinkedIn so many of you have played such an important role in our journey so far - as partners, as supporters, as fans and also as customers. The first-ever 98-point wine to be dealcoholized is coming to the US: ZERONIMO. It's from the Austrian couple Patrick Bayer and Katja Bernegger, second-generation winemakers at Heribert Bayer, who use a patented aroma recovery process to maintain depth and complexity. According to Joshua James of Ocean Beach Brands in San Francisco, it's “the best non-alcoholic wine in the world." Four other non-alc launches to know: 1. Spirits of Virtue announces Teasons, a premium selection of tea-based zero proof spirits. The Scottish non-alc spirits company has partnered with Sri Lankan tea merchant Eswaran Tea to create the brand. Launching this summer, Teasons will be available in Southeast Asia, Japan, the United Kingdom, and North America. 2. Curious Elixirs launches its ninth cocktail, a lime-infused sparkling rosé. Like the rest of its bevs, No. 9 claims a functional benefit: it includes South African kanna “to help you unwind.” 3. De Soi Sparkling Non-Alcoholic Apéritif launches Spritz Italiano, a “harmonious blend of sweet and bitter citrus, crisp white grape, and bold gentian root, complete with rich and relaxing adaptogens L-theanine, lion's mane, and reishi mushroom.” 4. Martini launches Dare to Be campaign, which it hopes will further cement its position as an innovator with its non-alcoholic Floreale and Vibrante variants. Martini conducted research in 2023 that revealed 53% of young adults are looking to reduce their alcohol intake. -
