About us
OUR PURPOSE The Australasian Society for HIV, Viral Hepatitis and Sexual Health Medicine (ASHM) is a peak organisation of health professionals in Australia and New Zealand who work in HIV, viral hepatitis and sexually transmissible infections. OUR VISION is to see the virtual eradication of HIV, Viral Hepatitis and sexually transmissible infections. OUR MISSION is to support the health and medical workforce achieve this -- through education and training; policy and advocacy; direct action and collaboration. - ASHM was proud to highlight the incredible impact of our Supporting Triple Elimination in Papua New Guinea and Timor-Leste (STEPT) project at an event celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Australian NGO Cooperation Program in Canberra. Under the STEPT Project, ASHM is partnering with Maluk Timor , Catholic Church Health Services - PNG , Ministry of Health PNG, and Timor-Leste Ministry of Health to strengthen health workforce capacity and health systems to reduce mother-to-child transmission of HIV, hepatitis B, and syphilis. The STEPT project is delivered in partnership with the Australian Government through the Australian NGO Cooperation Program (ANCP). #ANCP Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade

Beyond the C is a national partnership program providing general practices with support to find people who may be living with #HepatitisC and engaging them with care. There are a limited number of spots available. The Beyond the C program has been accredited in the 2023โ2026 ACRRM PD Program for 5 Outcome Measurement hours. Beyond the C auditing and educational activities also contribute to the new GP CPD requirements.
