Courage to Care is a not-for-profit organisation delivering Upstander Programs to schools, workplaces and organisations across Victoria. Delivered by our team of skilled and dedicated volunteers and featuring inspiring testimonies from Holocaust survivor speakers, our Upstander Programs transform bystander behaviour and inspire participants to become Upstanders in their own communities. We have delivered Upstander Programs to more than 142,000 students, all at no cost to schools. - At Courage to Care we LOVE our volunteers! For more than 30 years, our passionate, dedicated and skilled volunteers have delivered Upstander Programs to more than 160,000 students across Victoria, educating the next generation about the dangers of racism, prejudice, discrimination and bystander behaviour. We plan to reach more students than ever before and are looking to for new volunteers to join our team, visiting schools across Victoria and working with students to transform bystander behaviour into Upstander Action. Volunteer with Us! - Courage to Care https://couragetocare.org.au - Through our #actionnotwords campaign, the JCCV had been urging the Victorian Government to act on recommendations to strengthen local hate crimes laws. We welcome today's announcement that legal reforms will be introduced to Victorian Parliament this month and thank Premier Jacinta Allan and Attorney General Jaclyn Symes for consulting with the JCCV in preparing these laws.

Professor Simon Wilkie, Dean of the Faculty of Business and Economics said “They are remarkable leaders who are making impactful and lasting contributions to government, business, education and the not-for-profit sector” Mike said “As a business graduate, I apply the principle that investing in educating our younger generations will have a strong social return on that investment,” he said. His dedication to social justice spans three decades, with key roles at the Make-a-Wish Foundation, Alannah and Madeline Foundation, and Guide Dogs Victoria earning him a 2023 King’s Birthday Honours Order of Australia. “I am most proud of my time in the not-for-profit sector,” he said. “Being able to align my professional skills and experience to mission-driven outcomes has been very rewarding.”
