- We welcome you to the opening of our upcoming exhibition! G.1 Red Project Group Show-2 is the collection of past solo artists of Red Gallery. G.2 Using an array of fibre and textile techniques, Jill Miglietti constructs two- and three-dimensional artworks that portray her responses to the physical, external world and her inner, emotional being. G.3 The repetition of Guna Green‘s subject matter intensified the question “Where are we rushing to? What are we pursuing?” Jennifer Green invites viewers to reflect on the complex narratives of the past, acknowledging the lasting effects of colonialism and imperialism. While also celebrating the resilience and strength of the human and non-human spirit. When Klyti Green paints she feels possessed by the magic of colour, movement and shape, lifted into a world without words. G.4 Through hand-tufted rugs Gala Jane explores the line between craft and art and questions our preconceived ideas about what deserves to be in a gallery space. This ambitious project sees bright-coloured, text-based rugs presented in the ‘white cube’ posing the question, is this art yet? G.1 Red Project Group Show-2 G.2 Jill Miglietti + Nicci Rossel - Remnant | Repair G.3 Guna Green + Jennifer Green + Klyti Green - Three Colours Green G.4 Gala Jane - Art or Not? Opening Night: 27 September 6:00pm -8:00Pm Exhibition: 25 September - 6 October 2024

G.2 John's work reflects his deep connection to the Australian landscape, blending realism and abstraction. G.3 The artists Angela, Danielle and Pauline present their ceramic pieces to serve as a chapter in a broader conversation, reflecting on personal experiences, creative explorations and unique perspectives. They stand independently but form a cohesive narrative. Sue is interested in how these disparate objects make meaning through a type of oscillation; a central idea found in Metamodernism.
