As a Finance Director & Treasurer at Strive, I managed and elevated both the strategic and operational aspects of Strive’s Finance portfolio by liaising with the executive committee and by leading a team of 5 finance officers in conducting fundraising activities, alongside conducting continuous analysis and drafting financial reports for Strive’s accounts.
My efforts & achievements at Strive as the Director of Finance were two-fold:
Process optimisation:
• Reduced operation costs by 60% for recruitment drives, nutrition workshops & events by financial planning.
• Enhanced management efficiency by 75% and improved cross-departmental communication using integrated personnel and project-management software.
• Reduced financial reporting & compliance costs to zero via implementation of an emerging accounting software.
Revenue-generation:
• Identified high-value grants and sponsorship opportunities by leading a team of 5 finance officers.
• Identified and planned new revenue generation opportunities in the form of several long-term
non-profit ventures.
Since my inception at Strive, our membership has grown by 33.33%, while our community engagement operation has extended its reach to organizing nutritional workshops at kindergartens in outer suburbs. See less

Social Services
Project WECan, implemented in 2014, addressed one of the large social problem in Dhaka- the problem of littering and waste disposal. The project used a Corporate Social Responsibility platform to sell eye-catching green trashcans to different private corporations with the idea of privatizing the city's waste management system and creating anti-littering habit within community members.

As a team of 4, we approached major corporations and laid out the benefit of incorporating the Project as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility, which would lead to an improvement in their branding and public relations.
Companies Persuaded: 10
As a whole, the project sold over 300 trashcans to 95 companies. Project WECan won the SUNYA award for Sustainable Development and Waste Management by the European Union, JICA, and Dhaka North City Corporation. Footsteps is currently designing an efficient waste management system to relaunch this project again in 2019.

Poverty Alleviation
'A Heartwarming Winter' is Footsteps' very first initiative which provided aid to impoverished areas during the cold winters by having volunteers going door to door to collect donations in the form of blankets, warm clothes, medicine, and money.
As a team, we asked residents, ready-made garment companies, and other corporates to donate any excess warm clothing for our initiative.

We were able to secure half a truck worth of warm clothing for distribution to poverty-stricken regions in Bangladesh.
The initiative was held over a span of 3 years ( 2013, 2014 & 2015) with over 1000 volunteer participation. The aid generated from 'A Heartwarming Winter' was distributed to over 6000 underprivileged people in places such as Kurigram, Rangpur, Chilmari, Kaunia, Noakhali, and Chuadanga.
