Since 1995, the BMW Golf Cup has invited top performers from around the globe to compete at a world-class level, delivering a tournament experience that exceeds the standards of everyday amateur competitions. This week, the 2024 BMW Golf Cup National Final for Australia and New Zealand was in full swing at the prestigious Kooyonga Golf Club in Adelaide! Talented amateur golfers brought their A-game, with our winners earning the opportunity to represent Australia and New Zealand at the World Final. Our electric BMW i fleet took centre stage, adding to the excitement both on and off the course. We had an incredible weekend at the biggest Melbourne Marathon to date, with a record-breaking 42,000+ participants this year. For the fourth year in a row, the pace car for the Marathon was a BMW, with our all-electric iX2 leading out the elite runners for the 46th edition of the festival. A next-level collaboration for Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles. 💧 Together with Toyota, we will combine our innovative and technological strengths to jointly develop the next generation of fuel cell technology — and we couldn’t be more thrilled. This collaborative effort will be utilised in individual models from both BMW and Toyota. Pioneering hydrogen tech since 1979 💡 Did you know that we’ve been working with hydrogen as a potential drive system for decades? These are some of our key milestones throughout history: 1979: A BMW 520 was converted into the first BMW test car to use liquid hydrogen as fuel. 2000: The first ever small series hydrogen car embarked on a "CleanEnergy World Tour" - an early hydrogen mobility showcase. 2014: The BMW 535iA Hydrogen was built to demonstrate zero local emissions, sporty dynamism, driving comfort, and long-distance suitability. 2023: A pilot fleet of the BMW iX5 Hydrogen took to cities around the world, including Melbourne, for testing and demonstration purposes.
