needle advice Hello, seasoned knitting veterans! I'm still very much a newbie, and I'm about to graduate from "scarf." It was suggested that I attempt a simple, triangle-shaped shawl. I looked up a pattern (THIS pattern, to be precise), and it suggests size 13 needles. But given that the shawl will be fairly wide at the finish, how can I do this on 14 inch straight needles?Do I really need circulars, even though the pattern doesn't suggest so?Any advice on how I might complete this?Thank you! Handspinning classes, reprise I'm trying once again to get one (or more) handspinning classes working at Bluebonnet Yarn in Cedar Park. If you're in the area and are interested in learning to make yarn with a spindle please let me know. I have tentatively scheduled classes for1/30 and 2/6 - 10am until 1230 (two classes, one session, one money)2/3 and 2/10 - 10 am until 1230 (again, two classes for one money)I'm supplying the spindle (homemade but serviceable) and hte wool for a small material fee because to the best of my knowledge there is no spinning equipment or fiber at the shop. Amazing... Amazingly enough, when I searched around I didn't find a LJC devoted to Austin-area knitters - what a void to fill!So at any rate, here we are. Please don't spam the list with adverts for things you've made - we knit, we can make it, right? Please DO let us know if you need help, if you need company for your knitting adventures, and especially if you have stash to swap. (3 Comments |Comment on this) |
