(I hope it's okay that I joined up. I promise to *try* not to post too much stupid spam here. ;-))

Hi, I'm returning to study to preserve my sanity after a family-having break of some eight years.

I'm currently in a short introductory Psychology course at the local TAFE.

I once studied Fine Art (painting) at Deakin Warrnambool. BIG mistake. I should have studied anything else. All that subjective wankery is like fingernails down a blackboard for me. I want objectivity. Proof. Definative Truth. As well as clearly defined areas of doubt and uncertainty, of course. ;-) *cough*

On the upside, I did get to do my fair share of cafe-sitting, protest marching and passing out from university related partying errors. Ah, fun times.

I was studying Natural Resource Management off compus from Warrnambool TAFE most recently, and have the option of continuing, but it still isn't *quite* what I am keen on. I now live in Ballarat and the practical option is for me to study for a degree in IT in an irritatingly convenient and cost-effective TAFE/Uni hybrid course, but that doesn't quite excite me, either. It would make me employable, probably, and I'd have the option of continuing in that vein if I wanted to, but I really want to study science.

Which kind of works out nicely because the Bachelor of Science offered off compus through Gippsland Monash has a Cert IV as an alternative prerequisite. Cert IV in IT with a side serving of 3D Studio Max looks like a good place to start.

I can't define a specific field of scientific interest yet because I want to know it *all*. Muahahahaha! My cunning plan is to make it up as I go along, as I will have more information on what I am good at and what interests me. As well as more clues about what I might have a good chance of doing further studies in, getting work in etc, etc.

I'd rather be a failure at something I love than successful at something I hate. :-D
