I'm frightened of what is happening in my country. America.

Elderly are expiring in their wheelchairs in the unrelenting heat. Their bodies left on sidewalks with only a blanket over their heads.

Snipers are shooting at medical evacuation helicopters, holding the hospitals hostage. Why? They are drug addicts, needing to secure their only shot at their next fix.

Ten year olds are being raped in the street.

This is America? This is America!

The UN offers help and expertise. Our president turns them down. His ego is more important that 250,000 lives? Oh yeah, they're black, so I guess they don't matter.

The whites are "finding" food in abandoned stores. Blacks are "looting".

The FEMA director learning only YESTERDAY that the convention center was trying to help 20,000 people, believing that it was only 5,000 until he actually talked to feet on the ground there. What?

Sri Lanka gets American aid within 24 hours, but minorities on our own soil are "foolish" and "deserve what they got" because they weren't actually poor, without transportation, elderly or infirm. They were "stupid" and should "take their medicine". If only there was medicine to take.

Where are the helicopters? Where are the troops? Oh yeah, they're fighting a war that never should have been. London got their guys within a month. We decided it was better to cause a diversion. Meanwhile we're broke and our people are dying. Homeland security? My fellow Americans, we are one natural disaster away from losing life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
