...This is the Creed, I will live it... (original) (raw)

Wow! This community has been very neglected by me. I am very sorry!
Let's see if I can adequately catch up on Avalon news and such.

Okay, there was definitely a fall leg of "The Creed" tour. Very successful! Mark Schultz tagged along again, but instead of Across the Sky, there was Matthew West. Very talented guy! I went to see them in Kingsport, TN with two friends of mine. I had a very good time! Much different than the spring, lots of energy. That tour was over by Thanksgiving.

During that time, Jody McBrayer announced that him and his wife are expecting a baby. Not too many details. If my memory serves me right, she is currently in the second trimester. The due date is sometime in May.

"You Were There" was released as the second single from their critically acclaimed album, "The Creed." It made it to #2 on R&R Inspirational Chart. Their current single is "I Wanna Be With You." It was released to AC and CHR markets and currently sits at #27 on R&R AC chart, after a major increase in airplay. Call and e-mail radio stations and request it. We want this single to be #1!

A new album is in the works! Nothing more, other than a possible summer release!

Avalon will be making several appearances at Women of Fatih conferences. Dates are listed on the tour page of their website.

At the very beginning of the year, Avalon was considered for the following nominations in the following categories for GMA's Dove Awards.
Group of the Year - Avalon
Song of the Year - "You Were There"
Pop/Contemporary Recorded Song of the Year - "Abundantly", and "All"
Inspirational Recorded Song of the Year - "You Were There"
Pop/Contemporary Recorded Album of the Year - "The Creed"
Long Form Music Video of the Year - "Testify to Love" Live In Concert
The official nominees for the 36th Annual Dove Awards will be announced February 7, 2005.

And speaking of award nominations, Avalon has been nominated for a Grammy! I was very excited when I heard that. They are nominated for Best Pop/Contemporary Gospel Album for "The Creed." Their fellow nominees are "All Things New" by Steven Curtis Chapman, "Who We Are Instead" by Jars of Clay, "Everyday People" by Nicole C. Mullen, and "Rising Son" by RainSong. The Grammy's will be aired February 13 on CBS. Unfortunately, their award won't be presented on TV.

I believe that is about all. I promise that I will try and update this more often and keep the dust and cobwebs out!
